Not my favorite Variety location… I came in and ordered a cappuccino and muffin, and overheard one of the employees make fun of my order to their coworker, saying “no one comes in and orders that muffin” while laughing like it was a big joke. Why have something in stock if it supposedly doesn’t sell well, or recommend other options rather than act like teenagers making fun of what people order? Not everyone wants to just order a latte or cold brew, sometimes people want to order something else. If you want to make a comment to your coworker, at least wait until the customer leaves. Read moreVariety is fine, it’s not worth going out of your way for but it’s a solid option if you’re nearby and need some coffee. Espresso drinks are fine, sometimes overextracted but I feel like the baristas have been more consistent lately. Drip coffee is meh, if you need beans for home there are much better options in the neighborhood. They have a lot of different pastries to choose from if you need a snack but it would be nice if they had more savory options.
Things I appreciate: they have a bathroom, the chai they use isn’t overly sweet, outdoor seating is nice, and most importantly, they don’t charge extra for nondairy milks which makes them much more affordable than other coffee shops in the...

But basically everyone else is very rude and and likes to scoff and roll their eyes. I don’t understand that about Brooklyn baristas. Seems tiring.
