Green Valley Deli — Restaurant in New York

I have been going here weekly for years, and I love the sandwiches and fried food they make. However, I just experienced one of the worst kitchen meltdowns Ive ever seen.

I ordered a milkshake and they have the option to buy a pint and they will use it. I picked out a coffee flavored pint because I love coffee milkshakes. After waiting 15 minutes or so, I received my shake and sandwich. The kitchen had made a mango shake with almond milk and some kind of berry puree. No problem, maybe a miscommunication. I bring it back 30 seconds later, and when trying to explain the issue, I’m greeted with a dismissive/rude attitude. I ask if they can remake just a coffee milkshake and after another 10 minutes and obvious annoyance on the part of the cashier, I’m handed a new milk shake which is just milk and syrup, AKA chocolate milk. So I paid $10 and spent 30 minutes for a milkshake and received watery chocolate milk which I just threw out as it was inedible. Just kinda shocked at this whole experience. I ordered the vegan cheese and steak sandwich. It was great and extremely filling! The beyond meat in it was prepared amazingly and I'd love to try all of their vegan options. My friend got the regular non vegan burger and it was good too!

The deli was clean and stocked with so much that you can get everything from kimchi to cleaning supplies. Great nice staff also. I will definitely come back here again! Worth checking out if you're in the area.

Local store right near my house. They haven’t made a year yet but I see day in and out how the store is always busy which is great. Owner is very nice guy with always smile on his face. They make an amazing Caesar salad, smoothie and also deli sandwiches as well. Open daily 6am-midnight but only downfall is they don’t take EBT but not a deal breaker for myself bc I will continue to support local business in these trying times. Keep up the great work and...
