I always seem to find an excuse to treat myself with a trip to this local ice cream shop. Since the prices are so reasonable (maybe too reasonable?) I have managed to find lots of excuses....sometimes 2 in one day. 😉 Seriously, the prices are incredible. But that’s not the only reason my family and I keep returning. It’s also because of the friendly environment. They are such lovely people. It’s actually pretty refreshing to be around that type of hospitality. My 4 year old daughter decided to get a strawberry ice cream cone and she ended up not liking it. They were so quick to offer her a different flavor for no charge. I didn’t think it was fair to them bc she chose that flavor and I told them I would happily pay for a new one. They didn’t let us pay for it. Super friendly staff. The ice cream is okay-- it's totally fine, nice ice cream. I've had both the soft serve and the hard scoops. They're fine. It's the only ice cream place within a short walk of mcgolrick, so I go here often. If you want great ice cream and are willing to hike a bit further, Brooklyn ice cream factory has the highest quality ice cream in the city, but you have to go up to the top of Greenpoint (they also have been closed due to the pandemic, so they may not be open). This place is amazing!!! I'm so fortunate to have one of the best ice cream stores I know down the block from my home. I've systematically tried all the flavors, and every one of them is outstanding. My personal favorites are the moose tracks, strawberry, and chocolate.
