I’m so disappointed to have to write this review but whoever was the bartender that worked August 24th moving into the 25th night was an absolute terror. Ive never been so scared for my life until tonight after what Ive encountered and I hope it never happens to a woman or a man of color again. I've worked in this area for a very good while almost a year. Vig bar has been recommended until I had a very fearful encounter the other night. The bartender ran into me without apologizing but as a woman of color it’s very hard to speak up for yourself even for the smallest of things in fear of getting kicked out. My african friend who is very much black had simply let the bartender know to “say excuse me to women”’. Simply put, no aggressiveness or anything but ofc as a person of color you’ll be tainted as the problem no matter what you do. With no word the security had told us we weren’t welcome anymore simply because the bartender had shoved me (mind you it was almost completely empty on a Saturday night, that should’ve been my first red flag) He sent over the security who was also a black man to remove my friends and I. Please keep in note I’ve worked in hospitality my whole life and keep the same manners even outside of work. I was extremely confused as my friend doesn’t even drink (didn’t have a drink that night at all) and didn’t do anything wrong. I spoke to the bartender in which I asked for his name to address him respectfully in which he said “I don’t need to provide that information” I responded with “that’s alright, my name is arianna it’s nice to meet you I just wanted to be respectful and address you by your name when speaking to you. I had continued saying, “It’s very scary when you make accusations like that against people like us because we can lose our lives that’s way.” In which he responded, “You can leave too” as a brown woman myself. He knew he was threatening people who are always 1. Kind to staff and are thankful for everything 2. Threatening PEOPLE OF COLOR. 3. Had people that were his OWN STAFF comforting me telling me “that’s how they treat people like us here”. Vig bar profits off of people of color and the music we’ve made for this generation to enjoy and appreciate to kick the very people that white people profit off of off the pyramid. This is...
Read moreWent here for the first time the other day. I ordered a beer and my friend ordered a drink. When I was about the pay the bartender asked me if it was going to be together or separate. I said separate but she still proceeded to charge me for his drink. (Not a big deal because he zelled me the money) My deal is that she never gave me a receipt or the verifone to see what I was getting charged for and to put the tip. She just returned my card and thats it. Tell me how 4hrs later I receive a notification of an extra $5 dollars added to my tab. She gave herself $5 without my concent. That's crazy. And Im not saying $5 is too much but I didn't concent to this and for her to just go by her day and add it without my permission when she never gave me a receipt to sign or anything is beyond disrespectful. What if she wanted to add $20 to her tip without permission? I too work in the service industry and this is just disrespectful and...
Read moreEverything about this bar was fantastic. From beginning to end, working with Cancion and his team to set up my birthday party was done with so much ease. Even when I got sick on the actual day of my event and canceled, the staff was so understanding and did everything to help me plan my make-up date.
The room was incredible, and our server, Wanda, was so attentive and kind. Every drink was delicious - the Pornstar Martini is a MUST, it was fantastic. We ordered pizza through the bar as well and they delivered it to us in the back room - I can't even begin to express my gratitude on how helpful, accommodating, and kind the Vig Bar team is.
Vig Bar will absolutely be in mind for future events. I had multiple friends say they're probably going to copy me too - and everyone should! It is such a fantastic spot that I know I'll be back again for another drink. Thank you Cancion, Wanda, and everybody at Vig Bar for making my...
