Walsh's Pub — Restaurant in New York

We usually go to play pool there (spending about $12+ on the table). The older guy with the baseball cap was EXTREMELY HOSTILE towards me and my girlfriend because we don't drink alcohol but were willing to buy non alcoholic drinks. We bought a bottle of water for $3 and offered to buy another soda (also for $3). He was screaming and cursing at me for 20 minutes straight, saying that the pool table doesn't pay his bills. In the time we were there, literally no one played pool at all and he was screaming that we need to share the table. Even after I tried de-escalating the situation, he was still cursing at me and my girlfriend (which isn't the first time we've gone where he's been hostile). We love the atmosphere of the bar (minus the old grumpy men), but there's no way we can keep going to the place after this. After all the complaining about not being able to make rent, they'll get no business from us and any of our friends in the area. Shame on him for being so incredibly rude. I suggest putting a sign up if there's a minimum drink fee to play on the...

Bartender with the white beard and Irish accent was incredibly rude and cruel.. I went to use the restroom before I made an order while my while friend sat and was able to order water before her drink and when I came back to drink water and order our drinks he took the glass and threw out the water and we decided to leave, he followed us out of the bar shouting something uncomprehensable at us and when my friend responded to him he pointed at me and said he was talking to me. As two Indian woman who rarely go out it felt incredibly threating . We simply wanted a good night out with some drinks but were met with incredible hostility for wanting water beforehand. Great atmosphere! I love the people and the woman bartender. But, the old man bartender is rude, period. Also, not sure why, but they don’t sell water which I find concerning, almost illegal for a bar - a place that sells alcohol. So, please add it to the menu!!!

I originally gave them a 4 start review but today was the second time this man made our experience horrible. I don’t know why he is so grumpy. Is the bar his? He literally cursed us. We payed two games in the pool table and were unable to play because we have to leave the bar to deescalate the situation. Note: my boyfriend is black and I am Latina so maybe this had to do with...
