Very friendly staff, nice environment. We had a couple sake samplers, the foie gras sushi, the sashimi box, the uni lover, and the tempura shrimp starter.

Let me start by saying that I had a great time and the food was good, albeit not the best I've ever had. The salmon sashimi was probably my favorite of the sashimi box. The Mackerel sashimi, which is usually one of my favorites, was less than amazing the night I dropped by. The uni lover was creative, fun, and tasty, but it had too much peanut butter sauce on it -- it overpowered the uni. i.e. It was peanut butter centric as opposed to uni-centric. The textures complimented each other very well. The foie gras sushi was creative and fun, but I don't think I would get it again. It was texturally great, but didn't hit a homerun with me on flavor -- it still had a gamey organ meat flavor/aroma to it. I usually love liver, but this one wasn't for me.

They gave us an Yuza sorbet ball in sparkling wine for dessert since it was a birthday dinner! Fun, cute, and tasty. The bill come with toasted brown rice...

Came here on a whim for lunch (myself, 5 yo son, husband and Korean mother in law). The food was excellent and service great. I left feeling satisfied and happy. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal, which is saying a lot. We got 2 bento boxes, udon soup and kiddo got avocado sushi roll and ate most of my miso soup.

The day after we were having some friends over and decided to get a large order of sushi from Wasan. Called them directly cause I noticed they have good looking catering deals. I def called too short notice but they were very accommodating and we worked something out. Once I put my order in, turned out they don’t have an in-house delivery person (they had thought I was picking up). The person I spoke with, said he could sort it out tho and personally delivered my order (under the time he had quoted). Honestly I was moved by the service. And the sushi was very fresh and delicious. Even the wasabi was clearly freshly ground.

This will definitely become one of our regular places. Highly...

The staff was very friendly. I was surprised they didn't kick us out considering one of our party members was about 2 hours late. The gyozas have a pretty nice taste and texture. Their spicy pork bun had a surprising taste. Usually pork buns feature a swert pork meat but this establishment doesn't feature that flavor, instead you get a nice spicy bold flavor that I must admit took me by surprise.

For dinner I had their Chirashi box. I am not sure if it was by design or not but my Chirashi rice box didn't come with wasabi, I had to ask the waiter who was really nice and gave me a nice heap in a soy sauce plate. Their fish was really nice though, pretty great quality and the rice had a pretty nice taste to it. Would definitely go again.

In terms of service. They are pretty attentive and kept the water coming, we literally never had to ask the staff to bring more water because they were bringing us eater before we had to even ask them...

We came for an late lunch. The food is amazing as well as the services. I would give a 6-star if I can. When are sat down, the lunch menu was still served. As soon as I saw "Croquette" is served, I know this is an authentic Japanese restaurant. This is one item that I only typically see in a Japanese-owned Japanese restaurant. The waitress confirmed it for us. She is so sweet and friendly. After my wife placed her order, she actually suggested a different way to order the same set and we loved it! The way the sushi rice was prepared is so authentic, the Croquette was delicious! I ordered Nabeyaki Udon noodle, the best I ever had. The experience brought our memory back to a Japanese restaurant in Victoria Island Canada, one of the best we visited. The item prices also surprised us, the could be more expansive for sure. A bottle of Sapporo Beer was only $4, I will definitely come back!

Tremendous taste and value. The portions were plentiful and the tastes were fantastic. The crunchiness of the Japanese fried chicken really set the mood. Furthermore the sushi rice had a richness to it. The complementary barley tea was the perfect palate cleanser (not to mention the cup was wonderful to warm our hands while we waited it to cool off). This was our first time dining out in 2021. We were not comfortable with eating inside so much to our delight, Wasan had heated lamps above their outdoor tables. Much kudos to the way they have adapted to the new realities of Covid. We hope that this restaurant will continue its successes.

There is a separate "late night" menu that's much shorter than the dinner menu so unless you're already aware or order something that happens to be on both you can get a bit tripped up when it's time to order. The garlic fried chicken was good, but could have been a bit crispier since it was getting sauced anyway. The spicy shrimp tempura + avocado roll was also okay, but definitely felt like there was a high premium being paid for a roll that could've been gotten elsewhere. The outdoor seating is nice but is also a bit restrictive as far as walking space is concerned.
