I was bamboozled by the 5 star reviews of this location in hopes that the food would taste as good as the Original location or even the location near Kings Plaza to my surprise I was shocked by the low quality taste of the food and its lack of traditional middle eastern seasoning. I’m not sure if the reviews are for clout because Halal Bros earned their stripes in the hood or people really don’t know what real street food is supposed to taste like. But even Stevie Wonder could see that this is not it. I ordered two orders of the traditional chicken over rice with salad , white sauce and BBq sauce, hot sauce on the side. The chicken smelled like for lack of a better word “Dog Food”. Once bitten into had no flavor. The rice had no flavor and lack the essence of the traditional seasoning. The white sauce and BBQ sauce, bland. To say the least the salad was good. Im no cook but their was no cumin, coriander, allspice, cinnamon, cloves or nothing to be found in this dish. As NYC being the Mecca of street food and Halal Bros being as popular as they are for their innovative twist of the popular dish. I’m not sure how you mess regular chicken over rice up. I’m not sure if it was a bad night or the original cook was off that night but if this isn’t the case somebody needs retraining. I think I’m more tight that I spent $30 on the food and had to throw it away. I should of just took my butt over to the food truck on 4th ave. that’s been there for 20yrs. Welp, You live...
Read moreYALL ON TIKTOK LIE LIKE A MF!! I’ve had wayyyy better and fresher halal food than from elsewhere for cheaper than here!! Restaurant was clean but Food was horrendous. I would never go back there. Rice had no type of flavor, meat over cooked, portions were super small, the salmon was super small I barely had any meat & it was frozen, plus they don’t give you any pita, lettuce or pico to go with your platter like the other places unless you pay extra for it. Food isn’t made fresh off the grill just dry & bland meat they try to cover up with that sweet ass sauce. I ordered the “famous” jerk chicken over rice along with a Jerk Salmon over rice & they gave me a lil ass piece of frozen salmon with no type of jerk flavor whatsoever. Sauces don’t mix well with the food, charges for every single extra topping including pico, sauces were mid. First and LAST time going to this location unless yall hire some ppl to actually cook the food fresh back there as I wait chicken and all like how MUNCHIES does & I definitely wouldn’t recommend to anybody I know unless they don’t care to waste their money on some nasty ass food or just don’t like them. I’m really disappointed because I was kinda excited about eating from here considering all the hype on TikTok but it’s a HARD NO for me and my family. Waste of time,...
Read moreI recently visited Halal Bros Grill and was truly impressed by the quality of the food. Instead of the usual fare, I opted for the crispy chicken salad and the jerk chicken—and they did not disappoint.
The crispy chicken salad was a delightful mix of textures and flavors. The chicken was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside while staying tender on the inside—and was tossed with a medley of fresh greens and vegetables. The salad was further elevated by a zesty dressing that tied all the flavors together beautifully.
The jerk chicken was another standout. It boasted an amazing blend of spices that delivered a rich, smoky heat, perfectly balanced with a hint of sweetness. Each bite was full of character, offering a unique twist that set it apart from typical grilled chicken dishes.
Overall, the dining experience at Halal Bros Grill was top-notch. The ambiance was inviting, the service was prompt and friendly, and the food was exceptional. Whether you’re in the mood for something crunchy and fresh like the crispy chicken salad or crave the bold, aromatic flavors of the jerk chicken, this spot is definitely...
