I've been coming to this location for over 30 years. Ever since childhood when my elementary school would give us free frosty coupons for good grades.
The location went through a much needed remodel after hurricane sandy years ago. The update brightened up the joint and improved the atmosphere a bunch.
Fast forward to 2024... They didn't need to do another renovation but they did and it now looks like a public pool changing room. It looks dreary and is noticeably darker inside. The dining space is more narrow and seating placement is questionable for foot traffic. The staff completely changed and 90% of them don't even speak English. This is not a racial thing. This is a service quality issue. We waited over 30 minutes for our order meanwhile we see a mountain of burgers stacked in their burger pit waiting for their only two English speaking staff to expedite orders. Given that there are only one or two English speaking staff members... There was a single non-english speaking employee trying her best to mumble pronounce orders helping expedite but she moved as slow as molasses and every order she bagged ended up being wrong so the manager had to step in to fix it.
This issue is especially bad because they are now running a $2.99 deal between 5pm and 9pm for kids meals. This place ends up being slammed by children, parents and people coming by after work. They clearly cannot handle all the foot traffic given only two employees being able to speak to customers.
Mobile orders are also a mess. Uber drivers picking up will shove their way to the front and shove their phones in the employees faces during these peak hours. Little do they realize that the people their shoving away have been waiting over 30 minutes for their order...
Back to the mountain of burgers. There is a quality issue here because most fast food joints train their employees to get rid of food thats been sitting for over 5 minutes and to remake the order. How does this fit in to the quality control here? Easy. There is none. The bread ends up rubbery and the whole meal is cold.
The fries here have also gone down in quality. We used to have an option to add salt or forego it completely. Sadly due to I assume poor training or a language issue, the staff overly salts entire batches of fries. I had the worst heartburn of my life from a single fry. It was inedible.
Ironically this location kept up all the rewards they got in previous years despite being under completely new management. None of those awards apply to the current staff or managers. It pains me because this was my favorite fast food joint in the neighborhood.
These problems did not exist before the renovations. I don't know what happened or what kind of pea brained decision making this is whether corporate or new franchisee but it isn't working. Nobody wants to dine in a prison bathroom. Nobody wants to feel like their bloodpressure skyrocket after a single fry. Nobody wants a limp cold burger. Nobody wants to wait 30+ minutes for fast food. Read moreTerrible! Just Terrible! Poor customer service! I was waiting to order but there was anyone who could take my order. Employees on the back were fighting about their break and schedule. What the heck i need to wait and listen their argument. Before me there was delivery guy who came pick up the order . The guy came with angry face and did not look delivery’s order detail and says the order is not ready. Meanwhile when i ask girl to take the order she is like there is only one register works. The guy continued arguing with delivery as the delivery guy stated the fact he demonstrated disrespoctifulnuss to both of us. I called the manager. Manager came and instead of listening our concerns he points out that we have to move to open register. HOW THE HECK CUSTOMERS NEED TO KNOW WHICH REGISTER IS OPEN IF THERE IS NONE ON THE FRONT. When I arrived both drive thru windows were unmanned (pretty sure I never se them open anyway)and I had to go inside the store. Inside it was really chaotic with a huge line and a bunch of Uber eats workers crammed into a corner constantly cutting the mobile orders line to ask if their orders were ready yet.
The restaurant was very unorganized for the process and lots of angry, irate customers. Not a good look. It took me an hour to get my food, which in hindsight I should've canceled and not wasted my time. Cherry on top they even messed up my chicken sandwich which didn't have the bacon or the cheese which is probably the only reason you get a BLT over the standard chicken sandwich.
