Zio Pepe's Pizzeria — Restaurant in New York

I wrote a negative review not because the pizza was bad but because no one in this establishment is wearing a mask and employees don't follow common hygiene protocols. Instead of apologizing the owner responded saying that I am a liar and that I have a cousin who owns a business in Astoria. That goes to show how narrow minded, unprofessional and unethical the owner of this business is. First of all the only cousin I have in this country line is St. Louis and is a school teacher. Second of all, if you want credibility see attached pictures which by the way are posted on your Google profile.

Anyways, I have nothing to prove and I am posting here publicly. I have no problem changing my review if you apologize for your behavior and if you train your staff to follow protocol. Until then good luck and stay healthy.

The defensive and aggressive tone of one employee in particular was unsettling when we advised the order and bill was incorrect. He escalated it to the point it truly felt threatening.Hopefully, the owner will take this matter seriously.

I connected with the owner today, Lenny (?) about Joseph (?)... I'm not surprised that he employs an individual who is aggressive as he was defensive. He said it's "hard work" etc - never an excuse for aggressive behavior.

We were in the restaurant business so I am well aware of the dynamics. I was not looking for a free pie just a sincere apology and assurance that his employee would be spoken to.
