Capriotti’s has really went down hill. Ordered a turkey hoagie with mayo, mustard, pickles and extra cheese. 22 dollars for a sandwich for it to not have pickles no extra cheese and barely any mustard or mayo. I called the establishment immediately after seeing it and was told to bring it back and they will remake it. Sorry I’m not driving 20+ min for y’all to remake a 20 dollar sandwich that should have been made correctly from the start. The person on the phone puts me on hold for a few and returns saying his boss won’t do anything unless the sandwich is brought back. I wasn’t even looking for a full refund but telling me bring it back or tough luck is ridiculous especially for the prices charged. I would stay away from this company. They used to pride themselves on being a top tier establishment and now it’s about churning out as many sandwiches as possible regardless if the order is correct or not. You are better off going to a country maid. Same fresh turkey, less money and your order will be right. I won’t be giving them my money again.

I thought the Newark location was one of the better ones, however I purchased a large cheese steak which cost me over $22 and the paper is saturated with oil. The manager Michelle says it’s juice from the steak, beef makes oil/grease where I come from. She made no effort to rectify the situation. She wasn’t even apologetic and that there was nothing she could do about it, because it was 45 minutes or so later. What? Really?Mind you although I purchased it in newark and I live in NewCastle 45 min or so before I got home, it shouldn’t look like this. I’m anticipating my bread to be soggy.🤦🏾‍♀️. What a waste of my hard earned money!!!

Our family placed a large dinner take-out order, one of numerous orders over 10 plus years.

Saturday October 22nd, we had an extremely disappointing and unprofessional encounter. Part of our order included a Lg Bobbie and Lg Cole Turkey sandwiches. While eating, we discovered MULTIPLE BONES (3) - one fragment was quite large, the other 2 fragments were rather small/thin. All three posed a huge risk to choking.

After encountering these three bone fragments, we didn’t finish the two sandwiches. We called the store, as we wanted to make them aware of the hazard in their food - esp given three fragments in two sandwiches. Instead of having any interest or concern, the person answering at the store (~6pm) was extremely rude, disrespectful, and very unprofessional - ending the call with a reference to calling our family member a “bitch ass” on the phone - trying to intimidate and quoting they have fine-print stating bone fragments are typical and acceptable to serve (fact checking - we found no such disclosure anywhere on the website, nor any general warnings). We packed up food and bones, drove to the store, hoping to speak with a manager who might care, but instead encountered much more of the same unprofessional behaviors.

In our review on another review site, we were advised to submit our complaint to a company email - but not surprisingly, its been over a week and no further follow up or interest.

BUYER BEWARE…. We won’t...

Before I start off I would like to say that they did refund us for our order but I still feel like people should know that if they order from here it’s most likely your order will be messed up. We started off by calling in an order for a cheeseteak and a sub, we asked for extra oil on our sub and it had none. We also asked for our sub to have NO sweet peppers, which it DID have sweet peppers. Second, when we called in for the cheesesteak we said “NO mushrooms but want the ketchup and fried onions”. When we got home there were no mushrooms thank god but there also wasn’t ketchup or fried onions (which to my knowledge fried onions come on the cheesesteak anyway unless you ask for it without. We already drove out of our way bc the closest capriottis to us also sucks. We called and let them know and that we would just get a new cheesesteak from the capriottis near us but unfortunately they ran out of bread so we ended up having to go back to this one again. Finally we get the food home and there’s ketchup this time but still NO fried onions. To some people may seem like whatever but when you’re hungry and excited for what you’re about to eat it sucks when it’s not made the way you were hoping. Also by looking at the other reviews it seems that others also have a hard time with this Capriottis. So either I’d recommend picking a different location or just going to...

Capriotti’s is a sandwich lover’s paradise, serving up generously sized subs with quality ingredients and bold flavors. While it’s a chain, this Newark location feels very local thanks to the friendly staff and efficient service. The space is clean and casual—perfect for a quick bite or a takeout stop. Their claim to fame is the “Bobbie” sandwich, which I had to try. It's essentially Thanksgiving on a roll: slow-roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayo. I was honestly surprised at how balanced it was—savory, sweet, and creamy all at once. The turkey tasted freshly carved, not like deli meat, and the stuffing had a nice herby flavor that didn’t overwhelm. I also tried a Capastrami—hot pastrami with Swiss cheese, coleslaw, and Russian dressing—and it was just as satisfying. The bread is soft but holds up well, and portion sizes are huge. You’ll definitely leave full. They offer both cold and hot subs, vegetarian options, and even party trays for group orders. Everything’s made to order, and the staff are fast and efficient, even during busy lunch hours. Prices are fair for the quality and size of the sandwiches. Capriotti’s isn’t fancy, but that’s its charm—it delivers big, bold sandwiches that feel like comfort food but with deli-level quality. It’s a spot I’ll...
