We went to Dutch's as a group of 4 before the Air Supply show at NJ PAC. Chose this place because it is very close to NJ PAC (5 min walk). We made a reservation in advance for 5pm & arrived on time. We were quickly seated, ordered drinks, received the drinks fairly promptly, then ordered our meals. So far so good. Unfortunately that is where the positives end. We drank our drinks and sat there for well over an hour with no further service of any kind. Our drinks were empty with nobody coming over to ask for another round, no update on our food order...nothing. Finally, at about 6:15 we were able to flag someone down....only to find out there was some kind of confusion on our order. Once we asked...then 2 of the 4 dinners arrived...but not the other two. When we asked yet again about 10 minutes later...the 3rd order was retrieved.....but nobody seemed to know what happened to the 4th dinner. By this time (already 6:30) we needed to leave to go to the show so we just asked for the check and then left after paying. We ended up only getting 3 of the meals (at different times) but 1 person did not get their dinner...and we only had the one round of drinks. No explanation from anyone as to what happened, no apology of any kind, no discount on the check...nothing. The waiter for our table never once even came back to the table to check on us, update us on the order, explain what happened...nothing. The only way to communicate with anyone was for me to walk up to the waiter counter to try to talk to someone. when I did that, our waiter wouldn't even respond to me when I asked what was going on....he actually just walked away from me without even acknowledging me.
I have no idea what happened here....but I have never seen such horrible service in a restaurant before. The place wasn't even very busy so that wasn't the reason. It is too bad because the food was actually pretty good (for the meals we did receive) and it is close to the Performing...
Read moreDuring my recent stay at the hotel, I found myself having breakfast at the attached restaurant each morning. Unfortunately, the experience fell short due to being severely understaffed—only one waiter and one cook were on duty. This made for a frustrating breakfast service, as it’s impossible for one person to effectively manage 20 to 30 guests, especially during a busy conference period.
Lunch, however, was a different story. Initially, I enjoyed my meals for the first two days, but on my last visit, even with the restaurant nearly empty, the cook mistakenly served me a dry, cold dish. Clearly, there’s significant room for improvement here.
On a positive note, the ambiance is lovely—the decor and lighting create a pleasant atmosphere, and the bathrooms are impeccably clean. The staff members who assisted me were friendly and attentive, but to enhance the overall experience, it’s evident that more staff is essential to elevate both service and...
Read moreWonderful atmosphere in this newly reopened, very stylish bar. We had a fantastic evening visiting from St. Louis and meeting a friend from NY. We initially sat at the bar to have a drink and a little food before we intended to go out to eat. We stayed 5 and 1/2 hours. Everyone we dealt with on the staff was interesting and fun and the food ended up being fabulous small plates and entrees that we just kept eating. The manager Valentino talked with us off and on for at least 2 hours and made a couple of free specialty drinks for us, the bartender Jaysen was on top of everything and two servers Rosa and Diego, kept an eye on us and the others at the bar and made sure we were getting what we needed without any delay. And they were all great at visiting and making it a special evening. I highly recommend the Lemongrass Skirt Steak and sliders but EVERYTHING we ordered was good. I think the poached salmon and grass fed burger were also...
