The food was so delicious! We had read about this place and it was rated #1, but you know you can't always believe what you read. I would definitely have to agree with that statement. When we arrived we were greeted right away by who appeared to be the owner and he also made sure we were doing ok once we got our food. Now that's what I call great service! The price was fair for the amount of food you get. We for there at around 11:30am for lunch and wow, it was so filling and much more. I ordered the corned beef and pastrami sandwich, which they are known for. There was so much meat in that sandwich, I did not know what to do with myself. Each bite was as good as the last one. The meat was super fresh and juicy. Not a single dry bite. The Russian dressing that is placed on the inside of the bread made it so much better. There was just a light coating of it and a light layer of coleslaw as well. It was just enough to get an extra crunch to every bite. I loved that it was not over powering and made the sandwich how it should be. I also ordered a side of the pasta salad. Such a perfect size for such an enormous sandwich size. It was not bland and was not over bearing with flavors. It was just perfect and I loved the fresh vegetables that were diced up so you can get a little bite with the pasta. I was too full, but I had to order a hamentashen to go. I ordered the apricot flavor and it is the size of my hand. I cannot wait to devour this later. I am sure it is as great as the food they serve! Highly recommend coming here to eat!!!

Oh and I cannot forget the friendly service we had! Everyone was so happy and they greeted us with a smile. The lady at the check out counter was just as pleasant as everyone else there....

To the influencers that are making videos about this place, listen...this sandwich is not worth $21. While the meat is a good, lean cut...it's still under-proportioned. Being a Newark native, this was my first time being there. They do give you options for bread and trimmings, but a hot pastrami on a round roll with only spicy brown mustard came to $21.55. For that price, you're better off taking a trip to Harold's in Edison. The hot pastrami was all that I ordered because that's all I could afford on my lunch break. Taste was good, but nothing to rave about. There is a paying parking lot around the corner if you plan on dining in. Street park if you plan on just running in to pick up your order. It really depends on the time you plan on visiting. I believe they close at 2pm on the weekdays. Not sure about weekends. Calling ahead to order is an option because they can be busy. The only reason why I gave three stars for the service is because... you know when you try to order just for specific people based on planning, and then other people...who never order with you at work jump into the order??? So the one person that ordered a sandwich, which really didn't have anything difficult on it, and the deli forgot to give them the correct cheese. So 6 out of 7 sandwiches were correct, except for this one person's, who when they discovered the issue, made this big scene about their sandwich not being correct. We went over the order on the phone, so it's unclear how it was made incorrectly. Yes, they are busy, so call ahead of time, but I wouldn't suggest large and/or separate orders. They however, gave ample napkins, nice ones, and plenty of gurkins. Again, for the price, tried it, would not go back a second...

I just ordered a pastrami and corn beef sandwich on rye with just mustard and a side order sour pickles…. Yes the customer service was awesome! I’ve ordered sandwiches here while back with no problem food was always great! … however this particular day the meat was TERRIBLE 😞!!!! Well the CORN BEEF IT WAS SOOOO FATTY AND RUBBERY! BLAND TASTE I WASNT ABLE TO SWALLOW IT ! On top of that the sandwich was about a whopping $30 I asked for a side of pickles which I’m assuming was the additional $4 which total price was $34 smh and they don’t even give you your money’s WORTH J SWEAR THIS WAS LIKE A MINI SANDWICH! The pastrami was ok not the greatest but it was edible.. the pickles were delicious ! The best part of my $34 smh what happened??? To this place??? So sad places that get there clientele up !!! And start getting that money 90 percent of the time they fall off!!! This place fell allll the way off !! My opinion I can’t speak for everyone else … but my experience today as forwards the quality and amount of food was distasteful! I’m so disappointed because hobbies was my favorite place once upon a time .. smh I also shared a photo of my MINI SANDWICH THIS IS TWO MEATS BTW PASTRAMI AND CORN BEEF FOR $30 smh however on a flip note ….
