McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Niles

The day before Thanksgiving between 2 and 3:00 p.m. me doordasher walked in McAlister's to pick up a Lisa K order 🤔, the previous order from Lisa K was in another dashers car that broke down for 15 minutes in a bag, 🙄 so doordash reordered it I came into the store to pick up the order and asked McAlister's to remake the order. I was in McAlister's for 10 minutes asking them to remake it.(doordash was on the phone for the entire incident.)😏. The other Dasher walked in with the order now over 25 minutes old. Two little girl managers stated if I'm not getting paid I'm not making it. 🙄 (Hello you're in a doordash contract ,a billion dollar company)😅. The other girl manager came up to the order and said it's still warm you can deliver it.( I said no I can't.)🙃 Doordash hearing this they canceled the order🤗 I walked away. The little girl manager yelled across the store (when you leave don't come back) I came back.😡 both ,managers came up with I don't like the way you talk to us your tone.🙄 I never yelled, cuss, disrespected them, threatened any of them. I guess my tone asking them to remake a 25-minute old order from behind the counter was too much for both the little girl managers.🥴 I reached out to the general manager Brandon Vars.🧐 I was told not to harass him his first sentence (have texts) so,( they already knew) (wow) .now I can't do my job under contract at mcalister's all they had to do is , remake an order under contract over 25 minutes old to their own customer where is the professional manager McAlister's. We placed an online order on opening day around 11:00am with a 11:24 pickup time. When we arrived, there were A LOT of people in line to get inside. We pulled right up to the pickup window and our order was ready on time.

The food was all fresh and we really enjoyed it. We each got a Choose 2 with soup & a half sandwich. Perfect portion for lunch (although we did upgrade the soup cup to a bowl)

4 stars because i got the Avocado BLT and i had to remove the avocado. It wasnt ripe in the slightest. It was like pieces of rubber, i couldnt even pierce it with a utensil. But once i removed it, the sandwich was delicious. Anyone who got an avocado item today was definitely disappointed.

EDIT: I'd like to edit this to add a few details. I have now visited this location 5 times. The issue with the avocado was isolated. Every other time it has been as expected and good. However, there are a few odd things ive experienced that i wanted to mention: They don't carry salt & pepper packets They don't give crackers with soup The to-go packaging doesnt make sense. Soup in a grocery style plastic bag? Not ideal. Today i ordered in the restaurant. They only have 2 single occupancy bathrooms (not gender specific) and THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK....

I must say I am very disappointed. I was super excited when I found out that we were getting one of these. No matter what state I visited the food and the service was consistent, until now. I had been raving to my friends about how good their food was especially their carrot cake. I order 4 pieces to go and the bag smells like straight garlic, I ask and the girl tells me something spilled on it. I give my guest their cake and they complain that ir taste like pure garlic and pickles. I called to tell the girl what happened and she put me on hold and never came back to the phone. I chalked it up to maybe they were busy so I called back the very next day to get the same result. Needless to say, my love for this place has been ruined all because no one wants to pick up the phone and replace my items. Needless to say, I won't...
