We had our first visit to Samano's Taqueria just yesterday. On each of our trips from Louisville to Ft. Wayne was always stop at the Shell station next doo for fuel and snacks and we'd always say "We need to get lunch at Samano's sometime!" Well, 'sometime' was yesterday.

Samano's is an order-at-the-count type of restaurant. The menu is is located on the wall behind the counter. Tacos, Burritos, and Tortas are but a few of the menu options, and everything is made to order.

Since it was lunch we both opted for two tacos...the way tacos should be, on a corn tortilla with just cilantro and onion, with a lime wedge on the side. I had pastor and chicken, the wife steak and chorizo. I was 100% interested in the bacon wrapped burrito, but we still had about 2 1/2 hours to drive so I had to keep that in mind.

And glass bottle Coke®. If glass bottle Coke® is available, you are obligated...and, let's be honest, it goes great with Mexican food.

We arrived towards the end of the lunch rush so the restaurant wasn't very busy. A couple of tables lingered, but for the most part it was empty and the floors and tables had been recently cleaned.

After we ordered it wasn't even 10 minutes before our food arrived...and as a firm believer in "hot food hot", it was HOT! Had to let them sit a minute because they were too hot to pick up! #Awesome!

Around the corner you'll find the salsa bar and the fountain drink station. They offer a selection of sauces and salsas for complimenting your meal, as well as diced onions and pickled jalapeños. The diced onions were a great touch! All the salsas were very good, my favorite being the Salsa Chile Fresno. I don't know what kind of magic went into that salsa, but it was smoky and absolutely worth writing home (or, at least, a review) about).

The gentleman who took our orders was awesome and checked with us a couple of times to make sure everything was OK...and it absolutely was.

I'm glad we finally got to try Samano's Taqueria and, at the same time, sad that we haven't before now. That's OK, though, because we now have a lunch stop when...

Typically a great place to eat. However the last few times I have gotten take out the food was a mess. The Adrian's burrito (bacon wrapped burrito) was mostly rice with a little bit of meat and other ingredients.

The pork tacos (El pastor) are usually excellent, however the last few times they have been scattered throughout the take out container. This required reassembly when arriving at home. No big deal, but disappointed.

The guacamole with chips is good. The portions of chips is excellent, however the portion of guacamole was about half of what I would expect with the cost and quantity of chips. The chips are 10/10.

The pico de gallo with chips is the same experience as the guacamole with chips. The quality is excellent. However one should be aware that the pico is on the Spicer side of life. It was fresh, with large pieces of the ingredients. Again though, the quantity of the pico was about half of what would be expected for the price and the quantity of chips.

Both of the guacamole and the pico were contained in small styrofoam containers approximately 3-4 ounces. Definitely less than a half of a cup.

Latest update : Great food during the day. Evening...

I had pork and shrimp tacos, didn't care for either of them, salsa was mediocre and the water tasted terrible. That sounds ridiculous to have terrible water, but I drink tap water on a regular basis and it was comparable to water out of a creek literally. The customer service, could use some work, the two younger gentleman working the counter seem confused and careless. Plates were brought out individually instead of all together like most restaurants, parts of my meal was missing and they had to be reminded by the same person that took the order. It's not terrible but I'd have a better experience and customer service probably at a taco bell it McDonald's. There's also not much seating inside (7 tables) parking is ridiculous as well. So much through traffic make it difficult to park, the front parking spaces are the only ones available I seen for the restaurant itself, and all say something about "20 minutes violators will...

Absolutely fantastic - don't let the location fool you. I usually stop in a couple times every week and have tried nearly everything on the menu. Its hard for me to choose a favorite because I have enjoyed everything, but I love the traditional Mexican style tacos, Adrian's burritos, and the alambres. Definitely try the choriqueso it is so good. The food is not cooked spicy but I like spicy so I like to add sauces, and the salsa bar always has fresh and delicious sauces available. I originally rated 4-star but it's gets better every week and deserving of 5-stars. Love this place.

I've been enjoying Samanos since 2018 and they have not failed me yet! Both locations deliver the exact same quality, flavors and customer service experience. I recommend the Adrian Burrito above all other menu items, but their other dishes are just as delicious and appetizing. Honorable mention recommendation: their Quesadilla! My wife gave it 4 stars out of 5, it was delicious but the reason behind it was: the seasoning was light, had to add other sauces to slice it up. They did not hold back on the portion. Bottom line: she will order it again.
