Lisa, the manager was very short with me during my Togo order over the phone. She was very impatient during my call in order. She told me several times that she was busy. When I asked about side items, she asked me if I was online looking at the menu. Items could have been out or they could have had specials that night. She basically refused to share the side items, while waiting for me to find the items on the menu. Once I came into the restaurant and paid, she left me standing at the hostess stand, didn’t even offer me a seat. She said it would be a ten minute wait but it was over 30 minutes. On a positive note, Ian the bartender was pleasant and I ordered bread pudding.
I get home and my salmon is well done instead of medium. I called to ask what options I had. Lisa told me I had to bring it back to have it remade. I said I would come back in the next hour. Hadn’t eaten all day and waited for a while on the order. Just wanted to enjoy my sides and the shrimp. While I’m having my dinner, I get a call back from Lisa saying she wanted to be clear that I had to bring the food back and they don’t know what people do to food once it leaves the restaurant. Like it’s 30 degrees outside, why would I want to come back in the first place? She implied that I could possibly cook my well done salmon just to come back in the cold and have it remade.
I have never experienced this type of customer service.
When I called we had already established that I would return the salmon for a remake so why would she need to disturb me and call me back. An already dissatisfied guest. She then told me that it was probably well done because I asked for the Salmon to be crisp on the top. So I guess it was my fault that their chef doesn’t know how to prepare a medium salmon filet.
However, the bread pudding was phenomenal. Best I’ve ever had!
After her calling and talking down to me like I’m an illiterate child, I decided not to take the salmon back. I don’t want to ever see her again.
Ruth’s Chris is my usual go to for salmon. They have the best.
Hopefully this helps Lisa to have better customer service skills. There’s a lot of room for improvement. Her energy sucks…
But that bread pudding was worth it. At least I had a little comfort food after a ruined dinner!
Please leave comments on how you think Lisa should have handled this situation. She obviously needs more training in problem...
Read moreWhile traveling home from the Outer Banks of NC, we stopped in to 456 Fish for dinner....we look forward to doing this again next year! Lovely atmosphere, professional staff, and out of this world seafood! My husband and I enjoy searching out good food, and can have high standards...456 Fish ranks among our top 10 best meals of all time! We started out with the "she crab soup". I love soup (and can be critical of a less than perfect soup), but this was one of the best crab soups i've ever had! Delicious creamy texture with good sized chunks of fresh crab meat (and what tasted like a perfect hint of sherry?). I do however wish they offered the soup in a smaller size because it is very rich and filling (it made for a yummy lunch the next day however!). The capresse salad was by far the best i've ever tasted--the house made balsamic dressing had a sweet kick to it that really set off the dish. And the waitress pointed out that they make their own cheese, which was fresh and quite yummy. I selected the special--grilled swordfish over boursin risotto with asparagus. I received a BEAUTIFUL thick swordfish steak, which was grilled and seasoned to perfection! The boursin risotto was good (but the slightest bit undercooked), but none-the-less still enjoyable. The asparagus was cooked perfectly and delicious. My hubby ordered the blackened tuna steak with succotash and garlic mashed potatoes. He enjoyed it, but wished he had ordered it cooked rare, instead of medium rare. I tasted his meal, and personally thought it was a bit too smokey tasting (hiding the natural flavor of the tuna), but my husband said he enjoyed it. For dessert i got the creme brulee, and my hubby got the guava cheesecake. The creme brulee was generous in size and well prepared. I didnt get a chance to taste the cheesecake, but my husband looked quite satisfied. It was a wonderful experience, and i highly recommend going to 456 Fish! All the food came beautifully plated, and tasted every bit as good as it looked! When the bill came we were pleasantly suprised at a mere $100 tab (which included a kids meal and drink for my 2 year old daughter, which i did not talk about in this review). Very reasonable price for a meal as delicious as it was! My only regret is that they arent closer to our home town...i guess we will have to eagerly wait to go...
Read more56 Fish has been on our list for a while. We both love seafood, so when my husband was actually home for a few weeks we decided to finally check it out. We did go during Norfolk Resturant week, my husband orderd from the restaurant week menu, I ordered off the regular menu. We started with the fired calamari, it was delicious. It was seasoned very well beyone just salt and pepper and it had a nice kick to it. The garlic aioli they provided as one of the side dipping sauces complimented it perfectly. The marinara sauce we both could have done without. It didnt have much flavour or add to the dish.
My husband had the shrimp and grits off the restaurant week menu. The grits were undercooked and still crunchy. The had caked together and when you cut in some of the inside was still dry and powdery. Grits are suppose to be smooth and creamy, sadly this was none of those things. And the garlic, oh my, it overpowered everything else on the dish. I love garlic, we both do, but this was a little more than to much. He ended up skipping on most of his meal and instead eating up most of the delicious lobster mac and cheese.
The lobster mac and cheese had to have been one of the top 3 we have ever tried! It was so creamy and savoury. The cheese wad so good each bit was as delicious as the last. The big chunks of lobster stood out and gave it an exellent flavour. We will go back for sure just for more of the mac and cheese.
I had the Mahi served with spinach and mash. It was delicious. The dish was almost perfect except for a spicy sauce that wasn't needed. But I loved every single bit. Each element of the dish, together or separate was excellent.
We don't usually get dessert, but as it came with the restaurant week we got the lemon cake. It was a little dry, but nice to have something sweet at the end.
We will be going back to try other dishes for sure, just not the...
