First: My many complaints aside, the food tasted pretty decent. If you don't mind horrible service and middling food, this is your spot. I am also not the type to leave a bad review, but I felt very disrespected.
1: A restaurant themed around serving crab legs (literally in the name) should probably provide the tools with which to eat said crab legs. How absurd and disrespectful of our time and money. We were told once we already had our food in front of us that people keep stealing the crab shell crackers, so they don't carry them anymore. We had to use beer bottles to smash the claws.
2: Eggs still had shells on them in the boil bag.
3: We had to ask four different employees to get a sugar alternative for my diabetic parents' teas (even the bartender was clueless as to what I meant by Sweet n' Low).
4: They doled out silverware piece by piece by request. No pre-wrapped utensils on the table, not even plastic. It seems like they don't want to deal with dishes? They just have paper plates for you to make your portion. Literally plates, no bowls. Crab boils are all about the boil butter sauce.... paper plates?
5: We went to pay and tip our server (nice person, but provided poor service) and were told they did not have any cash or change in the building. We went to two different businesses nearby trying to get cash for her tip. Do they WANT their servers leaving with no tips? We tipped her 20% regardless because lord knows it's not her fault the restaurant is horribly managed.
Do they want people to have a bad time? No, I don't think so. But management needs to get their heads on their shoulders where they belong and address the massive budget and basic restaurant experience issues that are keeping them from being able to provide basic accommodations to their patrons.
Tl;dr: To the owners, this location needs a...
Read moreWe went into Twisted Crab, not really knowing what we were going to order. My husband started out with wings and I ordered the clam chowder, which I didn’t like. It was too floury. So I ate my husbands wings, which were very good and he ate the chowder. The we ordered a pound of crab legs and a pound of shrimp. It came with 2 1/2 corn cobs and 2 small red potatoes. Boiled with the seafood and seasoned and oiled in the bag with the seafood. We have always been served butter on the side. Never has a seafood boil been served to us all greasy like that. But we didn’t complain, just asked for it to go. Our server seemed very unhappy, like she didn’t like serving people. My husband tipped her 20%. As we were leaving we saw a sign that said free drinks with a pound of seafood. So we should have gotten a drink or two with our order, since we ordered two pounds. He asked our server why she didn’t tell us about the special. She said it wasn’t her job to tell us. Then she went off on my husband, flinging her arms around and swearing. The seafood boil was nasty, over cooked, over spiced and in a pool of oil. No it wasn’t butter, it didn’t solidify in the fridge. Bad food, bad service. No...
Read moreWe went for an early lunch this afternoon. When we first arrived we were the only ones there. About 15 minutes later two more people came in. I ordered crab legs and a lobster tail with onion rings. The waitress asked if we wanted ketchup. We replied yes. I watched her hold an entire conversation with a fellow employee the go in the back. She had to be tracked down to get it. I was not given crackers to crack the shells. After requesting some the waitress went to the back. She emerged 10 minutes later with something for the other table. As I sat there while my food was getting cold. She eventually glanced in my direction and saw me looking at her then remembered that she was supposed to be getting me some crackers. Right after being given the crackers she walked away and as I picked them up I could see they were not clean. So I had to wait again while my food continued to get cold. The lobster was over cooked. The onion rings were the best part of my meal. I went to the restroom and discovered it was FILTHY!! The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the onion rings were good. I can imagine how much worse it could have been if the...
