The service at this restaurant is terrible! They simply does not care about their customers.
We are not local residents. We travelled with small kids to VB for the long weekend so we had activities planned out for each day of our trip. Today, we ordered a #9 special pho to go (with beef, tendon, etc.) for our son because he decided that he would like that specific type of pho for dinner. He is a small, special kid who cannot tolerate loud noise, he gets overwhelmed in a busy setting, and he is very picky about what he eats. After we picked up the order which was tightly wrapped in a plastic bag, we drove back to our rental 35 min away just to find out that they gave us a completely different type: a chicken pho, instead. (We ended up having to order something else for our son who was super hungry.) So we called the restaurant and talked to AJ, the same person who took our to-go order. At first, she asked me: what is a special pho? I then explained that it is a beef pho with other specials in it, the most expensive one #9 on their menu. She then told me to bring back the pho for an exchange. I let her know that we were far away from the restaurant so she told us to bring back the pho THE NEXT DAY for an exchange. Yes, you read it right, the next day! Then we asked to talk to a supervisor. Sadly, we could hear his voice talking to AJ: “tell them I am busy”. We then decided that we would like her to refund to our credit card the difference in price between what we ordered and what they gave us. She said she could not do it and that we would need to drive back to their restaurant for a refund even though I’ve explained twice all the reasons why I could not drive back to the restaurant. This evening, our dining experience at Pho 79 was unfortunately memorable for all the wrong reasons. We arrived at 8:15 PM. Initially, things seemed normal: the waiter promptly took our order and served water. Despite the restaurant not being overly crowded, our waiter did not return to check on us or refill our water glasses. Our kid wanted to watch the TV so we asked our waiter that if we can switch our tables, and he said that’s not an issue.
At around 8:50PM, a noticeable shift occurred. We observed staff, including our waiter, leaving the premises, which was perplexing given that we hadn't received our food or any updates regarding our order. With no other option, we approached the lady at the front desk, who appeared equally confused and uninformed. She discovered that our waiter had not even placed our order in the kitchen.
The evening was a series of disappointments, from poor service to a complete breakdown in communication and management. Had we not bought a Chick Fil’a from across the street for our 5 year old and expected him to eat there as well, it would have been a disaster.
In summary, while we hoped for a pleasant dining experience, what we encountered was an establishment seemingly unprepared to provide even basic service. Read moreEverytime I order something is forgotten. Just the last 3 orders I have a Bahn mi sandwhich totally forgotten. Then chicken instead of beef. Now spring rolls without sauce. Yall have got to do better. It's a constant with missing items here on delivery.
Had to come back and update even though I havent ordered in about a month. Its an easy pickup on the way home but I can say every single order has had a missing item and im at about 6 or 7 orders, including the ones mentioned above. Ive also opted to order for pickup since the last review. Every single time I have items missing lol, I cant make this stuff up but at least I am there so im not SOL with missing items. I opened one order in the car and im missing a steak skewer. My last trip, i open the bags up on the table right in front of them, and they say "everything is there, I checked." Missed additional skewers. I get extra skewers with my marinated shrimp and the Bahn mi sandwhich. Not one minute later, (i'm assuming the cook) is rushing out with my missing items. If they are this bad with every single order I make, they will lose business eventually. No one wants to keep ordering food to not get what they pay for.
