Well on the fence about this visit really, treated myself for Mother's Day. Tried Mission Bar-B-Q, for the1st time, it wasn't the type of restaurant I thought it was (shame on me for not doing my research)😕 Had the Ribeye Steak special and sides, the sides were great. Ribeye flavor good, size too small😬. I did enjoy the sides, and bigger then what most restaurants are serving at this time due to the covid food cutbacks. I did not expect this to be a fast-food Smokehouse and that's basically what it is, I thought it was a sit-down nice being served by the waitress kind of dinner as I said before that's my fault for not doing the research. However, I had a friend who did share with me the ribs they were delicious I've had that from here before but that was it and it was only a sample of her rib. Now getting back to my meal, I was very dismayed when I was served my tray of food; I took one look at it and said "that's my steak", I could not believe it and look at how small it was no wonder the price was only $12. The special was with Hawaiian sauce which I kept on the side I do not prefer to have fruity toppings on my meat that belongs for desserts for me. While one of the waiters were cleaning up the tables and changing out the six packs on tables with flavorings and Seasonings (I posted a picture of the containers which needed to be cleaned up) dripping with different sauces and debris, my question is why when he exchanged out the old packs for the new packs why didn't he clean those tops off as well good point right? I saw a Brisket meal and yep should have ordered that thick and juicy. AFTER Intial review update: I received a response the very next day via email regarding my concerns and experience that I had had recently. Mission BBQ does indeed listen to our comments and act upon them. After speaking with the area manager and disclosing my concerns and the advice that I mentioned perhaps for coaching some of his employees he was very kind and polite and professional. Also he gave me some of the history behind Mission BBQ invited me for a personal review of the restaurants in this area. I also received a gift certificate in the mail with which to come back and try out Mission BBQ again. The end results is Mission BBQ does take reviews and their comments seriously and they act upon them surprisingly immediately, compared to other businesses. With this type of action taken by the Mgmt. I would update the review now to four stars. Waiting to return and try out restaurant again and see how that...
Read moreWow, what a wonderful place to eat. We were taking family visiting from Florida to the airport. Stopped in for a quick lunch before their flight. We were blown away by the service we received. First, Ja’Naysha came around from the counter to explain the way you order and details about all of the meats and sides. She took so much time with us and answered all our questions. Next, when my family explained they were from Florida, the manager, Jessica, immediately started telling them where they could find Mission BBQ near their home in Florida and where new locations were being built. As we were ordering, everyone stopped, put their hand on their heart and sang the National Anthem. We joined in and sang because it was so wonderful to be around people like us that take pride in this beautiful country. My brother in law was retired Navy, and I’m pretty sure I caught a tear in his eye. We sat down, ate an amazing meal that included brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, coleslaw, green beans, potato salad and even had a sampling of the collard greens, which by the way were amazing. Another server named Beth, checked in us several times asking if she could get us anything or take things away from the table as we finished. She talked with us awhile telling us how much she enjoyed her job there and how nice everyone was to work with, even the cooks in the back. We decided to get some strawberry shortcake for dessert which was so good and the strawberries were ripe and sweet. Ja’Naysha knew it was our first time there and she even came over and gave us a little more dessert; she was so sweet. All three of these ladies deserve a bonus because I plan on telling everyone that they need to get over there as soon as possible. Thank you for such...
Read moreMission BBQ is my husbands favorite place to eat, not just because he loves the smoked meats, which he does, but because it is such a patriotic restaurant. Patriotism is the theme and is carried out in the decor and through very friendly and respectful employees. We are both Vets and appreciate how they honor all the services as well as law enforcement officers and fire fighters. The food and atmosphere are both so wonderful. They actually play the National Anthem everyday at noon. Everyone - employees and customers stand for the national anthem. Shout out to Maggie, who assisted us in the dining room and told us about the VIP club. Be sure to ask about the VIP club when you are there.
Some people have said the prices are high but market prices on quality meats are high, especially now because of Covid-19. Also, Mission BBQ prices are comparable to burgers at burger jjoints so I’m not sure price complaints are valid anyway. Servings are actually large here. When you consider a regular serving size of meat is actually 3 ounces and Mission portions are at least double that on a sandwich, it’s a lot of meat. We always have leftovers. Their sides are addictive! Their fresh cut fries are delicious and crispy. Mission BBQ has so many different sauces, you are bound to find the one that satisfies your taste buds or...
