Have always stoped when we are in the area and have always enjoyed the food until this experience. I am sharing because as a family business, you need to know what your customers are experiencing. We arrived at the restaurant abot 4-4:15 yestersay on Saturday and both had a two meat platter for takeout. They were finishing up a catering order and we were the only people in the restaurant. Took a while to get our food but wasn't overly concerned. We were heading south and I would have returned for our money back if it wouldnt have been so far out of our way. Out of a couple of the side dishes so ordered something else. Surprised that they only had one type of bbq sauce spicy and sweet available for takeout. We both had brisket and it was very fatty and tough. They had attempted to chop it up but didn't cut through it which should have been the first sign not to serve it. Both of us ended up throwing it out. The only thing warm in my meal was the green beans and they actually were very good. The sausage was cold and you could see the solid chunks of cheese. Not sure how long they have been cooking it or if they just attempted to warm some up for me but failed. Would have sat down while we waited but all the tables were dirty. They did start cleaning then while we were there but after we had been waiting awhile. My wife did enjoy the smoked chicken and baked beans but that was all.

The staff was polite. However, I would have appreciated it more and would have not been upset if they would have just told us they had a big catering event and were out of what we wanted than to serve us...

Had never visited a Dickey's and gave it a try while checking out ice conditions at my "secret" fishing spots a bit north of North Branch. While I had seen signs for the brand in a number of states, this location was close to the highway so it was easy to get on/off to make the stop and I'm glad I did.

I received a nice greeting from the staff who also took time to familiarize me with the menu. They also recommended the "Meat plus 2 sides and a huge soft drink" special which turned out to be a good deal. I opted for the pork sandwich, bbq beans and mac and cheese. Plus, I had a kids- sized vanilla cone for the road and it's a freebie! A nice touch.

My order was prepared right in front of me and was done quickly. Obviously everything was hot but it was also fresh...nothing had been sitting out and I later learned the place did not have a microwave...what a concept!

Of the 3 different sauces I tried the Dickey's "house" version and the "sweet" which was my favorite. The size of the portions were perfect for a late lunch.

While the staff was very personable I also had the pleasure of chatting with the owner (Rick) who, by the way, is also a hands-on operator. He is obviously focused on staying in contact with guests while providing fresh food served by a smiling team. Another concept that should be of interest to the area competition. I now have a "go to" place when coming and going from the lake that's just off I-35 where the staff serves good food with a smile. I'd recommend buying "in bulk" when headed north to eliminate having to cook on arrival day at the cabin. Maybe I'll...

A True Taste of Texas in North Branch – From Someone on the Inside!

As someone who proudly works this location here in North Branch, I can confidently say this place isn’t just where I work. This is a spot I’d recommend to anyone craving real, slow-smoked Texas BBQ.

From the moment you walk in, there’s a welcoming, 1990s-style charm that makes it feel like home. The atmosphere is cozy, casual, and always full of good energy thanks to our amazing regulars and new guests who walk through the door every day.

Our brisket and pulled pork are favorites for a reason! Tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor. But if you’re in the mood to try something underrated, go for the smoked turkey, it’s a hidden gem we’re really proud of.

What makes this location special (and why I love working here) is the team culture. We treat every guest like family and always do our best to make sure everyone leaves happy. If something is not right we make sure we fix it, no questions asked.

Whether you’re coming in for a quick lunch, a laid-back dinner, or planning a catered event, Dickey's delivers that authentic BBQ experience every time. Proud to be part...

We should have read the reviews before we stopped. I have been to Dickey's before and wanted to bring somebody that had never been there before. I'm sorry I did. While the staff was very pleasant and the aroma in the restaurant was very pleasing, The food was very disappointing. For $28.00, (1st pic is before we took any bites) Portions were very small and everything was lukewarm at best. This seems to be the theme running through most of the reviews for this store. They do catering but I don't think I would trust the food. The mac and cheese was very bland there was no bacon in the beans with bacon. The chicken was very dry. I will say that the brisket tasted very good had a good bark and smoke line and the pulled pork was pretty flavorful. The bread was nothing. I keep seeing responses to bad reviews about coming back to make it right. We won't be back.

If you are in the area, I highly recommend you try this awesome restaurant, The beef is slow cooked to perfection the ribs are tender and falling of the bone good and that is without any sauce. The place gives you that an authentic Texas barbeque spot feel and Mary and her staff are super friendly. When you talk to her you feel that his is her passion and not just trying to make a buck. I give her and her husband high marks for bringing a great taste and feel of Texas here to Minnesota. Thanks for the great experience. I am really happy we saw the sign on the side of Hwy 35W or we would have missed this awesome experience.

First time stopping by this location to pick up a pound of sliced brisket & sides on my way home to Braham from St Paul but was disappointed with the sliced brisket. It had a lot if hard ends so we didn't eat much of it, I gave the tender soft slices I could salvage to my elderly mother & threw the hard pieces out. It was enough to please her as she loves Dickey's brisket & luckily the sides were good so overall she was content. I'll give it another try in the future as it's the nearest location & makes my Mom happy. Hopefully brisket is better next time.
