McDonald's — Restaurant in North Branch

Was on my way back home to Duluth/ Jefferson Lines Express route is who/ Decided this lot, would be the spot/ We pull over and stop regardless if we liked it or not/ Holiday across the street, for smokes and snacks and things to drink/ Dairy Queen down the street, but only ten minutes before we leave/ You pay for convenience at the convenience station, and I'll be the first to call me cheap/ And it wasn't yet spring in Minnesota, so cold treats were not for me/ So I exited the bus and entered the store/ Was greeted immediately as I opened the door/ The morning drag seemed to have been drug, employees were to busy for Bore/ Cynthia smiled behind the register, as our bus passengers continued to order more/ She took and rang the orders with haste. . . But wait/ Once she finished she stepped away/ Around the corner she disappeared/ And then popped up behind the grill/ She assembled the orders without missing a beat/ As if she knew we'd been on the bus ready to eat/ Muffins, hash browns, coffee Mcgriddles/ Were whipped together with effort so little/ Surprised I was at the time that passed/ So surprised I missed her leave the grill to go bag/ She loaded the order and double checked the screen/ Looked at me and stated "Order 117"/ I grabbed the bag and the coffee too/ Headed back to the bus due to leave soon/ But before I leave, I must check and see/ Did my coffee receive the correct sugar and cream? Stopped in on Father’s Day Sunday June 19th 2022 (also was Juneteenth) around 3pm on a boiling hot 97-degree day after camping in the heat. We were so hungry. We ordered a Big Mac and a double Quarter Pounder with cheese, medium fries and a drink. Our tab was $17.00. We both agreed those were the best McDonalds burgers we’ve EVER HAD. Juicy and just-made, they were hot and fresh and the fries rocked as always. We’ve been to many a Mac-n-D’s in our lives but this one in North Branch Minnesota really stood out. The whole place was clean as a whistle including the women’s bathroom. We used the order kiosk and had our meals in under 10 minutes. It was good, because we’d been battling Sunday return-to-the-cities traffic, the heat had taken our strength and we were exhausted.

In general I don’t tend to hold McDonald’s at a super high standard as it is fast food and well quite frankly it’s McDonald’s however my visit recently has me completely baffled and confused as to what’s going on at this particular McDonald’s. I ordered a McChicken plain with pickles. The teenager who took my order stated that there were no pickles on the McChicken so he wasn’t able to add pickles to it but he could give me a plain McChicken. Now this is the same thing I have been ordering from McDonald’s for years and it has literally never been a problem. I’m not sure if this kid was brand new and just didn’t know or what the deal was but I was really baffled. It quite literally took me asking to speak to a supervisor to get pickles added to a Mc chicken sandwich. This is not rocket science it’s McDonald’s and it’s simply adding pickles.
