Visited this place right after a doctor's appointment. Looking for a local place to try and decided on Tay's. I'm so glad we did. The staff was very courteous and helpful.

My husband and I ordered two double cheeseburgers, an order of fries and a drink. The service was so fast. By the time we were done paying a young lady greeted us with our tray and took us to our seat. She checked on us often, which was really nice.

The burger was fresh, juicy and overall outstanding. The fries were homemade with the skin still on and very tasty. Drinks were free refills and they have a wide selection of options to choose from. They also offer a lot of options to add to your burger so you can customize it exactly the way you want it. The only thing I didn't see was A1 sauce - hint, hint! 😊

The owner told us they didn't own any freezers and you can tell by the quality and freshness of the food. They serve grass feed beef y'all!!! My husband and I looked at each other and promised we'd definitely return. It's out of our way but totally worth it.

The place is unassuming, really like a "greasy spoon" type place - if you will. Everybody knows those kind of places is where you can often find some really good eatin'. The prices aren't the cheapest I've ever seen but you get what you pay for. I thought we got a good value for our money. Next time I'm trying the chili cheese dog w/extra cheese 🧀 and onions 🌰 for sure.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place but make sure you go during off peak hours or you may be in a line that's out the door from what I hear. Anyway give it a...

Tay's Burger Shack has always had a special place in my heart. Being a foodie and a fat kid at heart I fell in love with this place the first time I went. I truly believe that Tay's is the best burger joint in KC. Their burgers are to die for and made with the best ingredient of them all....love. I've always had wonderful service at Tay's and they do a wonderful job hiring individuals who care.

Tonight was no different. I had the opportunity to buy my workplace dinner and convinced my team to get Tay's. I ordered 11 double cheese burgers with fries at 7pm. They graciously took my order and had it ready in 20 minutes!! The burgers and fries were hot and fresh. The manager Nicole took care of me by bagging the dozens of condiments I grabbed. She also helped me carry everything out to my car and gave me a complimentary cookie.... the key to any fat kid's heart. My employees were beyond happy with how delicious and fresh everything was. They were very impressed. When everything was said and done I found out I lost the receipt. I had zero problem calling Tay's up and asking for Nicole. She happily reprinted the receipt and sent me a picture so I could expense it. It's the little things in life that make a big difference. That is why Tay's excels at what they do. That's what makes the best burger joint in town. Thank you Tay's my hat is off to your...

I kept seeing the “voted best burger in Kansas City” sign so I thought I’d give it a try. I prefer to eat at locally owned burger joints over franchise chains. I was excited to see “grass fed” right on the menu. The wait staff was really friendly, greeted us, and took our order promptly. I thought our food was being made to order, but the fries were cold (not even room temperature). They were soggy and dark (maybe the oil in the fryer needs to be changed) — not at all what you would expect out of a French “fry” — definitely not hot or crisp. The burger was charred and extremely dry. I don’t mind waiting 15-minutes for a hot juicy burger, but this was unfortunately not worth the wait. The flavor was good, just very dry, pressed super flat, and kind of burnt. If you like “well done” you might give it a better review. On a very bright note, the chocolate chip cookies are to die for — they taste homemade. I had a double cheese combo with a chocolate chip cookie and a 20% tip for $21 — that seems pricy for a dry burger and expired fries. I doubt I’ll ever come back. The quality just wasn’t there for the...
