Commercial Point Cafe — Restaurant in North Lauderdale

The food is very good, but recently I ordered some lunch for delivery and when I saw the bill in my bank account, I almost died! I was billed 31 dollars for an order that came out to just shy of 12 dollars total, and when I called to ask for an explanation, I was told that I was "outside of the delivery area" and "You never tip anyways" so they had taken it upon themselves to apply a 16% tip onto my order. Not only is this illegal (as i didn't authorize them to apply this tip, remember - Tips are customary, but not required and are given based on service, it is not my job to pay your employees), but entirely unprofessional when I was basically told I am a cheapskate for not tipping or paying them what they felt was "enough money." I'd appreciate being told next time that i'm out of your delivery area and just not proceed from there, because if you still delivery outside the delivery area and just charge an additional fee in the form of a tip, then you're delivery area really means nothing at all. Again, don't get me wrong. The food was very good, but just from their business practices and the disrespect I was given as a paying customer , I won't be going, ordering, or recommending this place again. Hell, i even disputed the charge with my bank and will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau. Dine well, but keep an eye on your pocket book, lest they decide that you're not a good enough tipper and decide to dip into there to get what they feel they are entitled to. I really like the food here. It is one of the very few places that will deliver and being a teacher who only has a 30 minute lunch break if I forget my lunch or just wasn't prepared for the day it is very good. How ever that being said I have given up on ever ordering from here again. I have had several experiences of ordering at least an hour (usually several hours) ahead of time and requesting delivery at my assigned lunch time. It NEVER comes on time. I had 2-5 minutes to shove the food in my face. When I ordered last time I even called and verified it would be possible for it to arrive on time explaining the situation and was given assurances that it would be delivered on time (earlier than my lunch knowing past history) and still only got my food 5 minutes before having to pick up my students. So if you don't need food delivered in a timely manner it is a great option but if you need something at a specific time then please be aware to plan to have it delivered late or get someone to pick...

I wasn't sure what to expect... there wasn't many other food options around tho. We walked in and it had that local diner vybe which was cool but when we walked in, a group of business women in suits, everyone turned and looked at us. LOL. We all ordered a soup since it seemed to be a hot ticket item and we were pleasantly surprised. I had the baked potato soup and it was honestly way better than outbacks or any other that I've had before. Then I ordered the cobb salad just to play it safe. Again, one of the best I've had! The presentation was nice and easy to mix. It was a big portion in a nice size bowl which I appreciate. I hate when I can barely cut or mix my salad without it falling on the table. I literally ate every last bite of that huge salad. It was so delicious, and I was enjoying every bite. Normally, I'm a very light eater. I never finish a plate of anything. But I've never had a cobb salad that was like... Finger licking good! Lol. Definitely going back when...
