Overall Impression Boulineauâs IGA is so much more than a neighborhood grocery store. It's an all-in-one coastal marketplace that seems to anticipate everything you might need for a perfect day at the beach (and for the backyard grill later on).
What I Went In For I stopped by with one simple mission: replace my propane tank so I could fire up the grill that evening. The process was quick, the staff handled the swap efficiently, and I was back inside the store in minutes to check out the rest of the aisles.
âŚAnd What I Discovered While wandering, I spotted a screw-in beach-umbrella holder, exactly what Iâd been meaning to pick up but kept forgetting. That spontaneous find perfectly captures Boulineauâs charm: you walk in for groceries or grilling supplies and walk out with clever beach gear you didnât even realize you needed.
Beyond Groceries Gift shop & souvenirs: Shelves of coastal dĂŠcor, local goodies, and unique gifts make it a fun browsing spot even if youâre not grocery shopping. Clothing & beach essentials: From flip-flops to rash guards, theyâve got you covered for spur-of-the-moment seaside plans. Full beer & wine selection: Whether youâre pairing a crisp local IPA with your grilled dinner or grabbing a chilled rosĂŠ for sunset, the variety rivals many specialty bottle shops.
Staff & Atmosphere Everyone I encountered was friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to offer suggestionsâwhether it was the best brand of charcoal or how to secure that umbrella holder in softer sand. The store itself is bright, well-organized, and gives off a laid-back, beach-town vibe that makes shopping feel leisurely rather than chore-like.
Verdict If youâre in the area, Boulineauâs IGA should be your go-to stop for groceries, grill supplies, beach gear, gifts, and a surprisingly robust beer-and-wine selectionâall under one roof. Chances are youâll leave with more than you planned, but everything you...
Read moreThe grocery store part of it and the gift shop upstairs is over all okay things are a little overpriced there but they do have good produce. But now on to the reason why I'm only giving it one star we went to the soup and salad bar tonight and it was absolutely horrible. I noticed that there are a bunch of good reviews on the salad bar but they are for lunch... We didn't get there till dinner at 530 545 and The salad bar was unkept everything was mixed in together most of the dessert stuff was empty and the hot bar and The soup bar were completely empty. I told the cashier when we first arrived and I went up to get soup I asked her when they were going to put soup out and she said they should be getting it and then she never left the cash register to go tell anybody and they never filled it the whole time we were there and we were there for over an hour. I expected more out of this name and the store but I have to say it was hideous and I won't be going back. It was actually so bad I was kind of worried about getting food poisoning, that's how bad it was. The girl that finally came out to take care of the bar after I demanded to talk to the manager stated that she got stuck on the back line and couldn't get out there to do the salad bar it's like I told her if that's the case they need to hire more people somebody should be dedicated to only doing the salad bar not trying to do two or three...
Read moreHuge place with a large variety of different items, not just food. The grocery section looked very good, which is why I gave it three stars, however, we decided to have lunch with their specials, one meat, two or three sides, bread and drink. Our problems started with the lady who was serving us. We hadnât been there before so needed information, just what some of the dishes were. She was beyond grumpy! I could tell the meatloaf but didnât know what some of the others were. She looked at me like I had two heads and she shouldnât have to deal with me. She wouldnât tell me for a couple of minutes, just looked at me like Iâd crawled out from underneath a rock. Eventually, she told me the one was baked spaghetti, never heard of it, still had to ask what the other was, finally, she said fish so I said Iâd have that with greens, again, she snarkily said which? She pointed at collard greens and green beans , never heard beans referred to as greens! My husbandâs experience wasnât much better. His meatloaf was very good, however, the mac and cheese was very dry. My greens and stewed okra were fine but the fish was really dried out. I had one bite of one piece and two of the other, just inedible. Cornbread was dry. So disappointed as a lot of reviews were very positive. No one...
