Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in North Myrtle Beach

Atmosphere: When we walked in, I went to the bathroom before ordering. I was shocked by the absolutely filthy hallway floor to the bathrooms - I kicked a large ball of hair aside (bigger than my fist). It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time. The tables were also very dirty - we were surprised that no one was cleaning any tables the whole time we stood in line. It was a bad first impression, however the lack of cleanliness would not prompt me to leave a negative review.

Service: The behavior of one of the employees was appalling. She not only repeatedly yelled at me, but also yelled at other employees. I ordered a bowl with steak as my protein. She told me that I would be charged double for it. She had been standing there while I ordered and while it was fixed. When I asked her why I would be charged double, she said it was because it had too much steak. Then she proceeded to yell at the employee beside her and told him he better watch his portion control. My husband was behind me in line and he had ordered the same thing as me. Therefore the employee only gave him a few little pieces of steak, as she was standing over his shoulder. We did not say anything. Another employee (manager?) came to see my bowl and said it was fine and not too much - and that “sometimes people are having a bad day and just can’t help it.” She yelled at other customers also about what food they were out of - and the line was all the way to the door the whole time we were there (7:30 pm on a Sunday night). We were planning to eat in the restaurant but no one in our group wanted to sit in the restaurant with her continuing to yell at people, as it was a horribly stressful environment in an otherwise silent room. Also there were no clean tables.

Food: I wish we would have stayed because I would have asked for a refund of our order of large chips and queso. I am shocked that a Chipotle would not be able to get chips right. I honestly don’t mind stale chips but these were inedible. You couldn’t bite through them. You had to bite and pull hard to try to take a bite. We had to go to a grocery store to buy a large bag of chips to eat with the queso. My daughter’s chicken was also...

Are you kidding me? Thought we would try this location for a quick bite to eat the evening 4/4/24. Walked in door around 6:30pm. In line about 6-8 deep. As we waited the staff yelled out they were out of burrito shells to the line. No one left. Then 15 minutes they yelled out again we are out of burrito shells and queso. A sign posted in line exact currency only or credit cards only no change available. As I waited I looked around dining room to see very unsanitary conditions of tables, floors, chairs and trash. Finally approached counter 7:05pm my wife ordered veggie bowl. As she ordered I noticed food spread over bin area.. Staff scooped rice and black beans- no fajitas available it would be 20-30 minutes for them but you could garnish the beans and rice with cheese and sour cream. The fajitas were only an added garnish. Asking the staff how that was considered a veggie bowl? 35 minutes waiting in line. At 7:09pm we were back in our car with no meal, not about to pay top dollar for nothing we were coming in for. Reading through the reviews here I won't be back, as a local resident too.

Corporate needs to step in on this location, it's a poorly run operation. 3 people in prep station on right side of register playing around on phones when they could have been out cleaning up dining area. Seems some workers are over taxed while others are allowed to stand around. I question at that time of night with a closing time @10pm and they are out of food items? What is going on behind the scenes with exact money or credit cards only since they can't give change back at all.

Would give 0 stars if it was an option! I’ve never been to such an establishment in my entire life. I walked in, stood in line behind only 3 people. When it was my turn I told the woman I needed a Veggie bowl & a steak bowl, she told me there was no steak and wouldn’t be for a while. After driving 25 mins to get here, big bummer, but okay I switched hubbys order to chicken. Next, would you like black or pinto beans? Black beans for both please. Sorry we don’t have any black beans either. Are you serious? My exact words. Okay. Fajitas for both please. Sorry we don’t have any of those either. Are you kidding? Green salsa for the veggie and tomato for the chicken. And as she’s putting that on a notice another line behind her where to go orders are being made, and they are using black beans, and fajitas. I said we’d both like extra corn please she said I’m sorry we’re out of that also. I just saw the person on the to go order line use corn also. So I said ma’am they have everything I’ve asked for right there I just watched them use it. Her reply is that’s for to go order food only, I’m not bothering them. WOW! I said well don’t you think you should tell people before hand what you’re out of? I ordered a VEGGIE bowl and you have NO VEGGIES, well you do but you won’t even give them to me? And no steak. I said Nevermind I’ll goto dinner somewhere else. She said ma’am I’ve already started making your food if you leave the police will be called for dine and dash! The nerve!
