We have eaten at Cracker Barrel all over the south and southeast. Tonight, the Cracker Barrel, North Myrtle Beach gave the worst service and I have eaten at this chain for at least 20 years, maybe longer. We arrived at Cracker Barrel at 7:35 and were immediately seated. There were servers in and out of the kitchen area, I counted at least 3 in my section. We waited 15 minutes before seeing our waiter Jerimee, who actually stopped by a neighboring table before stopping at our table. The neighboring table just wanted a to-go cup for their beverage. Jerimee asked if we were ready for drinks, I ordered sweet tea, my husband ordered water. After 10 minutes, Jaimee brings sweet tea and water. Asked if he could take our order, we order dinner. The neighboring table waited 20 minutes to receive their to-go cup from Jerimee. After 15 minutes, Jerimee brought our food and he could obviously tell that I had become heated, disgruntled, displeased and disappointed with his service. Jerimee proceeded to fling our food onto our table, not caring about customer service, service excellence, with no care for the very customers he wanted a tip from. I asked to speak to the manager. Cory came over and asked if there was a problem or a concern. I asked Cory what was wrong with his service for the evening. He stated that he didn’t know and stated, “you tell me”. I told him everything I stated here, including the poor service the table received next to us. I then proceeded to tell him about Jerimee’s only other table, a six top that arrived 2 minutes after us. Jerimee took their order after 20 minutes of waiting, while propping himself against a wall and fanning himself, in front of customers, without a care in the world. At this point, Jerimee has 2 tables, a 2 top and a 6 top. Cory stated that Jerimee was “one of his best servers” and that he (Cory) didn’t understand the problem whereas I quickly dismissed him from our presence. The only saving grace for the evening, a lady came to our table, asked if we were reward customers, explained the program and then offered a suggestion for the meatloaf my husband ordered, coleslaw. She and the hostess seemed to be the only people doing their jobs at Cracker Barrel tonight. When we left, the 6 top still hadn’t received their food and they were seated 2 minutes after we were sat. We are considering buying a home here, our retirement home, make no mistake, I will never eat at this Cracker Barrel ever again. From the top (Cory) to the bottom (Jerimee) the service excellence left much to be desired. Jerimee had 3 tables and he let every customer at every table suffer for his lack of customer service, care and compassion. He simply didn’t care and first thing tomorrow, I will be contacting Cracker Barrel corporation. Until customers complain, things will never change. By the way, we still left Jerimee a tip, after all, we are still good people, even if...
Read moreGoing in this restaurant was a good feeling as the person at the door took our name and told us there was a bout a 15 minute wait time. As we looked around the store other employees asked if we were finding everything okay and interacted with our three year old daughter. About 15 minutes we were going to our table. This is where it all turned around. The waitress we had came to the tank and took our drink order. Seemed like forever when she came back. When she did she flopped our dinks down on the table threw the napkins down, turned and walked off to talk to another waiter. She the turned around and asked if we were ready to order. My wife told me to go ahead. Our daughter began to tell the waitress that see wanted a high chair and the waitress thought she said chicken tenders. I looked at the waitress and was telling her what I wanted to order. The waitress interrupted me and spoke to my daughter as. I politely told the waitress that I was talking and that see needed to listen to me. The waitress then asked if what I was ordering was for my daughter. I told the waitress that I was ordering and just to listen to me. She told our order and we never saw her again until she delivered to another table behind us. Then she told us they had to fry more chicken. My wife asked for a cup of coffee then. She brought the coffee and another waiter brought our food behind her. She never asked if we needed anything else, just walked off. The waiter that brought our food we asked him if he could get us some biscuits and cornbread as we never got any at the beginning, and ketchup. He said he would but went on taking orders. I finally was feed up with it all and walked to the front to ask to speak to a manager. A few minutes later our waitress showed up with the biscuit, cornbread and ketchup. She said the manager will be out shortly, as it seemed like she did not care. The manager came out and we told her everything. She asked what she could do to make it right. We told her we just thought she should know what was going on in her restaurant the we did not expect anything. She told us this was not the first time she has had to talk to her about her service. She asked what if she took a meal off the ticket. I told her to do what she felt like because that was not the reason we were telling her. The waitress come back one last time with our ticket did not look at us our speak to us. I would have loved a water to go and a book to put my daughter’s left overs in. I had to take the plate to the front and ask for a to go box. We whee not the only one’s unhappy with our service. Two other tables who had the waitress we did spoke with the manager after us. The manager was very nice. This would not stop me from going back there as we go there often. However if this waitress is still there she will not be mine. This was hands down the worst service I have ever had at a...
Read moreMy family has been regulars to this Cracker Barrel for years- a lot of the staff instantly recognize my three year old and are always so sweet to her. Special thanks to Tracy Oates (no relation) who works in the store, for always being so nice and friendly.
We’ve had less than stellar experiences here and there through the years, but generally we’ve had good service and excellent food. We went for dinner last night (4/9/2022), and it very well be our last time going. My wife is fasting during the day this month for her religion and she was craving Cracker Barrel for when she could break her fast at sunset. We arrived after 7:00p.m. and had around a 20 minute wait, which wasn’t bad for a Saturday night. As we waited my three year picked out a little baby doll and baby bottle that she charmed her way into convincing me to buy her even though we had bought a similar baby doll from there previously, and her big sister found a squishy toy she wanted- I was going to to pay for the toys after we ate and I paid for the meal. When we were seated at our table it timed up perfectly for when my wife could eat and drink for the day.
We were seated over 10 minutes without a waiter coming to our table. When the hostess walked near us, I got her attention and asked where our waiter was. She promised that he would would be right over and walked away. I watched her as she went back to the hostess table without getting anyone’s attention. After another 5 minutes the waiter came by and took our order. Based on the bad start, I was expecting to have a waiter in training, but was surprised to see that although the waiter was very young that he had multiple stars on his apron. He was friendly enough-he took our drink and and food order and went on his way. A few minutes after he took our order, we still hadn’t gotten our drinks, and I watched him come in and out from the kitchen serving others guests. My daughter began to cry as she was hungry, and my wife became light headed from sitting in a restaurant able to eat for 20 minutes and not even getting her drink yet. At the 30 minute mark when we still hadn’t gotten our drinks yet, we walked out- which I have never done at any restaurant, ever. I asked the hostess to tell our waiter to cancel the order as we’ve been seated 30 minutes and still hadn’t gotten our drinks yet. No apologies from the hostess, only a blank look on her face. I put the toys we were going to buy back on the shelf and we left.
I’m always very forgiving about restaurant service as I know it’s hard work and they get busy, but this service was inexcusable-it wasn’t even nearly as busy or short-staffed as I’ve seen CB before. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 just for all the good meals and service we’ve had there through the years. If I could give negative stars for the crew that was working last...
