7:00p Dining Time. Drinks: Red Nose Margarita, Sweet Tea, Strawberry Lemonade, Water
Appetizer: Chips, Salsa & Queso
Entrees: Triple Dipper (SW Eggrolls, Boneless Honey-Chipotle Wings & Awesome Blossom Petals), Pepper Pals Cheese Pizza with Mandarin Oranges, Smokehouse Combo with 1/2 rack, dry-rub Baby Back Ribs & Smoked Brisket.
Normally, I rank my Chili's experience much higher, but this time, I was completely disappointed. Service attentiveness was below average and food was below average or not served at all.
Drinks: Great! We just had to flag down server twice for refills...I didn't even bother asking for water and simply shared my daughter's tea since that did get refilled.
Appetizer: Chips and salsa were great; queso was cool, not even barely warm.
Entrees: Kid's meal was fine - she's under 2 and loves pizza. Triple Dipper was good, awesome blossom petals were very good per daughter. Smokehouse Combo was no bueno. :( According to the menu, this was to be served with roasted street corn, fries, chili-garlic toast & garlic dill pickles. I love pickles with my BBQ; but, they were never provided to me and the roasted street corn was also missing until after I'd eaten two of the ribs.
Summary of Smokehouse Combo: After visiting with server re: BBQ sauces, I asked for all sauce to be on the side. Dry-rub ribs were tasty and I'd definitely get them again. The brisket, however, was fatty throughout, chewy/tough and had "House BBQ" sauce slathered all over it (menu didn't state that brisket had any sauce on it). Had I not spoken specifically about any BBQ sauce being on the side, I wouldn't have been disappointed about that part...this wasn't the case.
I tried the BBQ sauce to give it a fair shot; but, it tasted "tobaccoey" to me. I'm a foodie and eat all kinds of new flavors, but I could not make myself like it after three "fair shot" bites - it just wasn't for me. The fries were cold, the street corn and pickles still hadn't made an appearance, so I ate two of the ribs.
By this time, a man in a blue plaid shirt served the corn on an elongated side plate. The corn looked good - charred all around the top of the cob like it'd been in the fire and I was looking forward to the flavors. The first bite provided me with a mouthful of cold, tough kernels that kind of smeared around in my mouth. I rotated the cob and took three more bites at different places on the cob in an attempt to find warm, tender corn...nope. It was WAY overcooked yet somehow still very cold. I think the flavors might have worked if it had been prepared correctly.
BTW, pickles never made an appearance.
I asked for boxes for my daughter's appetizers (Triple Dipper menu items) and for the rest of my ribs. As I mentioned earlier, the boxes came one at a time.
Pros: Red Nose Margarita was good, server's attitude was great and the place was clean. I still tipped 20% because that is how our server earns a living and he/she wasn't to blame for the food.
Next time, I'm sticking...
Read moreOur recent visit to the Chili's off Davis Blvd in North Richland Hills was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! Despite being packed with customers, the restaurant was impressively clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere from the moment we walked in.
We started our meal with the mozzarella sticks, which were the perfect way to kick things off – wonderfully cheesy, perfectly fried, and served with a delicious marinara sauce. They disappeared quickly!
The service we received was truly over the top. Our server was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. You could tell they were working hard, yet still managed to provide exceptional and personalized service.
For our main courses, my son thoroughly enjoyed his creamy and satisfying Chicken Alfredo and vibrant broccoli. My choice of the classic Chicken Crispers with the rich, golden fries and cheesy white mac and cheese was equally delightful. Every dish was exactly what we were hoping for and tasted fantastic.
It's not always easy for a restaurant to maintain such high standards when they're busy, but the Chili's on Davis Blvd truly excelled. From the spotless environment to the outstanding service and delicious food (including those amazing mozzarella sticks!), everything contributed to a wonderful dining experience. We highly recommend this location and look forward to...
Read moreMy family and I went here a couple of nights ago. By far the worst service we have ever had at a Chilis. To begin with, we were seated with no napkins, and had to ask 4 people, including two managers, over a span of 10 minutes before we finally got them. When our waitress finally brought napkins, she brought 6 napkins for a table of 8 people. It took about 10 minutes to get our drinks from the bar, and they did not come out all together. We did not have our food order taken until we had been sitting at the table for roughly 35 mins. When they brought out appitizers plates, they once again only brought out 6. Took another 10 minutes to get the last two plates. When the food finally came out, it only came out as some of the peoples food, half of others meals and then none for our daughter. The rest of the food arrived at our table in about 7 minutes. They still forgot our daughters food. My mother in law ordered another cosmo and they had to take her glass back to wash it because they only had 3 martini glasses in the whole restaurant. My wife got up to speak with the manager, Josh, who was a complete ass and laughed off her complaint and said 'what do you want me to do' and blamed everything on being under staffed. All though he admitted they were under staffed, we only saw him on the floor once helping out. He then proceeded to hide the rest of the night because he knew he pissed off my wife. Worst service and...
