We were huge fans of the old Tokyo Sushi. We would come every Tuesday for "All Day Happy Hour" and get Sushi Rolls for $3. As of December 2017, those days are gone and Tokyo Sushi is a new restaurant with the old name. New management has taken over Tokyo Sushi and renovated the entire look of the restaurant and changed the menu. The food is very good, and I'd go so far as to say it is a huge step up from the old restaurant. Everything we tried tasted much fresher and overall it was better quality. With that comes a noticeable price increase. The new restaurant isn't any more expensive than any of the other sushi places in the area, but for those of us that were regulars under the old management, it may be a tough pill to swallow. Nostalgia of the old restaurant aside, today's food was fantastic. The new staff is very friendly and the feel of the restaurant is much more polished than before. We will miss our "cheap, weekly sushi", but the new restaurant will be a worthy (but much less frequent) replacement.

Chef’s Han, Nata and Bates never disappoint when it comes to creating beautiful works of art that taste better than they look. The cooks in the kitchen are just as great. Their food always seem to please the palette regardless of what’s ordered here. Often our eyes appear to be bigger than our stomachs each time we dine in or carry out. Can’t go wrong though even having a variety of dishes somehow everything seems to go together so deliciously which is huge major godsend especially if you have food allergies like I do. I can honestly say I’ve never had any reactions or issues at all with anything off the menu. Which makes me grateful to have found this little diamond in the rough a little over a year ago now. Guaranteed their food is aimed to please and never disappoint. The severs are all wonderful they are very attentive and upbeat but polite and kind. Definitely fit for any mind of mood for even if you’ve had a long day at work they always seem to put a smile on your face.

We came to this restaurant because of the reviews....what a letdown. For starters, they were completely under staffed for a Friday night. It took 10 min for someone to take our drink order. Another 10 after receiving drinks for anyone to ask if we were ready to order. Food came fairly quick and wasn't too bad so the chef's do a decent job. Service was absolutely terrible. I can empathize being as busy as they were but it speaks very negatively on the owners for understaffing their restaurant on a Friday night. 2 waitresses to handle the entire dining room. They seemed very flustered. At one point every table was empty and filthy. They didn't even have people to buss tables. This terrible experience was all the owners fault. We had to ask for refills on drinks and for plates and napkins. Probably wouldn't recommend this place to anybody.

The environment was good and clean, which is good. But food was over priced. First thing made me feel bad was the Uni. It was still eatable, but I could tell that piece of uni had been sat for a while, it was dried the color was pretty dark. Second Hibachi was still icy. Third, sweet shrimp sushi/sashimi usually comes with the head deep fired as a part of the food, but if you use wasabi as a base and decorate the head with it, were you asking me the eat it or not? Fourth, normally sushi rice should be chilled before serving, if you are charging us this price, at least be aware of the basics. The reason I’m giving a two stars mainly because of the service. It was my first time there, I saw some pretty good reviews here on Google, plus it’s Friday, I just wanna find some good restaurant and enjoy myself, so I went there. The host/server asked “can I help you?” In a weird tone and expression when I was standing that just to wait for a sit for one, very bad first impression. The sushi bar staff was pretty nice to me, explained how to order and what the portions were like, but wasn’t it supposed to be the server’s job? It wasn’t a busy hour when I was there. So I asked for the order sheet for sushi/sashimi. What is the chance of messing up the order on an order sheet with amount circled? I bet I was one of the chances. Meanwhile I was waiting for me food, the host/server came by me 3 time and asked “are you done, do you want the bill?” And on the third time, right after she walked away, another server placed down my bill beside me, said nothing and ran to somewhere else, but I was still waiting for my food.. like.. I felt kind of disrespected and disappointed. When my wrong order came out, well I knew it was wrong from the bill, the older chef was share at me like he knew it was wrong, that gave me another creep. Conclusion, A Korean owned Japanese restaurant, I won’t go back or recommending any people to go. If you are a loyal customer there, I feel...

It's been a little while since I went out, but I'm glad a paid a stop to this place. The options feel near endless, but with such a welcoming staff and environment (minus the crooked wall art, lol) the feng-shui of this place is perfect for a night out.

I recall walking in and seeing scene with my family. Nice room temperature inside, and of course it appears as if there's more an open seating policy(?). The menus are very professional and boy, are they vast. There must have been 30+ different rolls and that's not even counting their many other dishes like bento boxes and noodles. They even serve sake! (I didn't drink any, but that is rather rare from my experinces.) The staff as well was incredibly delightful to us and treated us kindly. We made sure to leave a good tip! But about that food. I, personally, have good standards when it comes to Asian food because of how I believe it needs to be prepared. Their Tonkatsu doesn't disappoint, albeit the sauce is an odd choice but a welcome one. The only thing I really could nit-pick was the fried rice and the soup. Mainly the fried rice, since the egg was very potent, but the array of vegetables was able to bring it back up for me. And the Miso Soup was more my fault since I let it go cold! Very clumsy of me, but I will admit that it wasn't very hot when it came out, either... It could have just been this heatwave in the area getting to me, who knows? Regardless, if you're looking for a fairly priced and worthwhile area to treat yourself with a plethora of choices that include sushi and other fine dishes, this is the...

I am living in North Richland Hills. It was my first time since they changed ownership( I went last year... like June and did not even know that they changed ownership. that time, it was Chinese restaurant. ) since I went there that time, I decided not to go ever. but I saw they have been changed and I walked in around 7 p.m after work. really what the hell? they changed ownership and new food. just like wow. and waitress, sushi guys, even owners? just like WOW. they know what they have to do. Try on Sea urchin. young asian sushi men told customer that they don't want to sell Sea Urchin. I was listing why. He told the customer that what they got today is not 100% perfect fresh like what they usually get. So he did not want to sell. because of this situation, I visited one more time to try it. just like terrific. wow!!! Sushi men Special (I don't know the name but pepper with torch fresh sushi.) I just asked him what you can give me special. I told and explained why I visit one more time after my first visit and I listened to what he was talking with customer. He brought food that Sushi men special torch with pepper(I should have asked name of the food) but just like wow. I would like to recommend this restaurant to all of people who I know. awesome and nice customer service and FOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!! it is my favorite RESTAURANT EVER!!! TRY and we will feel and...
