Two good things from here: the Customer Service and their Chicago Dog. I ordered the Chicago Dog Combo, includes fries and a drink. I also ordered the loose hamburger (think sloppy joe without the sauce). And added a tamale. The service was great. Super friendly, easy to understand, helpful. I used the drive-thru and it was quick and efficient and their menu is easy to read. The tamale is just awful. Meat covered in breading. Nothing like a tamale. Don't get this! The loose hamburger tasted way too salty! Not sure if you can ask for no salt or less salt, but it was just terrible. The bun was also cold. Who gives cold buns with hot food? It makes McDonald's hamburgers taste like a top of the line burger! Do not waste time on this. And - when it says loose, they do mean, loose. It's messy! The Chicago Dog was the only thing I actually enjoyed. It wasn't as sloppy as some places. Maybe too much mustard, but otherwise, everything was good and went well together. The hot dogs are smaller than I remember, but still decent. The french fries though - awful. Just soggy and tasteless. I remember Arnie's to have decent crispy french fries. But if you like the soggy ones - here you go! I won't be going back - it's not worth a trip just for a hot dog when there are better options around. I think Five Guys hot dogs are already 10 X better.

This place has history for me. It was my stop way back in the 80's when I worked in Montgomery Wards before this area got transformed. Zero gripe about anything. But I always bow to the Chicago Style Hot dog and fries. I was a real fry-a-holic when I was younger. Look at the pic. A perfect meal for breakfast. It truly got me back home to cheeseville.

Great choices on pizza puffs, delicious chicago all beef dogs, they even have fish sandwiches and shrimp. I tried the fried pickles from the first time from this place. I like to mix my food and this is one of my cheese fries topped with my beef, pickles and peppers.

I came last week and got some food and they forgot to put my extra fries in I ordered. I called to let them know when I noticed at home and the owner was extremely nice. He apologized and got my address to send me a voucher for a fry. Well it was a holiday weekend so I knew it was going to be a few days which completely understandable 🙃. I Check my mail box today and I got the envelope. I opened it and I was just in awe. Not ONLY did I get 5$ in vouchers. .. he took time out of his busy day of being a restaurant owner, wrote me not only a apology but a good amount to apologized and ask me about my holiday weekend and so on... I am in complete awe and just made my day... it's been a LONG TIME since anyone has done anything close to what he did for me. I definitely didn't expect more then what I was missing in my order let alone such a nice letter and extra for a meal. I just want to thank you Steve from the bottom of my heart. Your such a great person and doing such a great job. It's so refreshing to see how there is still love and kindness from others. I definitely did not expect you to take time from your busy life for what you did. Your restaurant was my grandpa's FAVORITE EVER!!!! He wanted nothing else other then food from your place and right before he passed I got him food for him from there. Just memories there and now the letter for missing fries it's just nice... I can't thank...
