If you like your meal with a side of respect, skip Russo's. I had fond memories of Russo's from the 70s, so we waited all week to try thir steak sandwiches.
We ordered ahead to simplify things and drove down to pick it up. They don't take cards, but do have an ATM, so we went to the pick-up window to check the total. The girl at the counter said that she doesn't have a register, check up front for the total.
Dutifully we went up front and the woman said she didn't know, go to the back. We told her they sent us to her. She said she didn't know, they write things on a pad in the back.
Back we go, and told the girl what the woman in the front said. She rolled her eyes so hard, I'm amazed they stayed in her head and said really snippy that she does not have a register.
With that, we'd had enough and took our leave. Our youngest said he heard them say, "Oh well, guess they went elsewhere."
Yes, indeed we did, and if you're interested and need a great cheesesteak, pizza steak, chicken cheesesteak, massive amounts of super crispy, hot fries, and great pizza, by the way, hit A&LP on 15th and New Jersey - great, fresh food, generous portions, awesome FRIENDLY service, and a reciprocitous return of respect....
Read moreThis is my favorite place in North Wildwood unfortunately open only in warm weather. Nice employees, plenty of groceries and takeout items all in a spotless store. Everything you need for a quick food fix is here. The have fresh butcher meats like steaks and chicken cutlets. They have a deli for delicious subs made with good bread and quality cold cuts. This little store has everything from pudding, potato salad, drinks, packaged snacks to kids toys. Everything you need for a day at the beach will be found here.
The reason why I will travel out of my way to visit Russo’s is the Philly Cheesesteaks. A large one is 22 inches of tasty madness. Great meat on excellent bread with the right amount of cheese gives me the perfect food comma. I prefer mine with peppers and onions. Just thinking about this makes my mouth water and wish for...
Read moreI haven't been there recently, however we have been longtime summer Customers for over 30 years. The food is excellent. They make the best hogies, breakfast sandwiches, pies and puddings. Salads and everything is always fresh everyday. They also have a small grocery section for all your last minute needs. The food is a little pricey, but worth every penny. North Wildwood isn't North Wildwood with out Russo's. If you've never been there it's a must stop in, even if it's only for a bagel or coffee. I guarantee it will be worth the trip and in summer the wait. Best to call ahead in the summer. Highly recommend it for over 30 years. It just keeps getting better.
