I'm gonna start by saying I eat a fair amount of sushi. I Also have worked as a sushi chef before and I am in the same industry, so take this for what you will. There are pictures with this review This was 12:30 PM on a Friday, the whole restaurant was empty except 2 other tables were dining in. Let's start with the menu. It's literally sharpie written. I'm assuming they are going to get a menu. But why not at least have a simple printed menu ? There was also no setting nor plates on our table. Or any table... The Staff was a sushi chef, another chef walking around helping this older woman who I believe is the server (because she took our orders). We placed our orders. Always new spots I order generously. Because I like to see and taste everything to know if it's a good restaurant. I was also with my girl so I ordered a bit more just in case. Miso soup, seaweed salad, dragon roll, spicy scallop roll, and 2 sushi entrees - chirashi and sushi/ sashimi combination. First Miso soup was not hot but flavor was not bad. However drinking a luke warm soup was not a good start. Even the spoons are not even matching like they were a different set? Felt like everything there were just hand me down items from previous restaurants. Seaweed salad came about 25 minutes after the miso soup.. this salad does not require any prep because this is literally how distributors sell to the restaurant. So it took them 25 min to put it on a plate. Which the serve just dropped off.. mind you we still have no utensils on the table.. so in awkward confusion, me and my girl was just staring at each other. Shortly after, a chef realized we were missing utensils so he brought it over. It was only after we received our salad, I hear the older woman server tell the chef what my order was. Even though I placed my order 30 min ago. Rolls- we ordered spicy scallop and dragon roll. The sushi rice is well made. Flavors were not bad. Bu the presentation is a bit lacking. The rolls looked they were very badly put together. The unagi was cold.. and maybe it just sat out for a while but I expect my unagi to be warm the very least. Spicy scallop flavors were actually not bad Nigiri sashimi combo and chirashi- was probably hands down the worst I've seen in a while. I literally spent 100 for 2 people for lunch and they literally just gave us salmon and tuna. Where's the variety? Salmon also really questionable. I eat a lot of sashimi (I am in the industry) and this was not the freshest probably because they haven't sold much. The fake crab stick in the chirashi is really unappetizing. It looks like this chef learned sushi maybe 20 years ago and never changed or improved his plating or techniques. As I paid the woman came by and asked how was everything. I couldn't tell her how awful the service was bc I honestly had so much to say. But felt like a pointless process when they are literally not at all prepared to open this restaurant. Overall I just felt like they have no idea what they were doing to run a business. I believe the chef is the owner and if that's the case hire a good manager. Not have the whole restaurant run on 3 employees.. I am gonna assume this place is still doing soft opening stage because there's no way this place will survive in the way they operated.

Over priced and anticlimactic. Will not return, will not recommend. My husband and I love sushi and consume it frequently. First 2 minutes there to our 1st disappointment and worst business practice. Dont advertise something you arent going to provide the customer.!!!!Bottom of menu advertises happy hour M-Friday 430pm-630pm discount on drinks and food items.. Beyond obvious, since it was 445pm, that was our first question, which was met by the following response: "well actually although it is happy hour we are not offering anything at the moment because we are still working that menu out". We ordered Miso soup which was flavorless, the Shumai was overcooked and flavorless as if it had been boiled not steamed. The 1800 roll sounded phenomenal and was recommended so we ordered it. 1 piece is all I could handle because it was so salty, my husband ate it because of course we were hungry and had not eaten all day. It is said that when you are really hungry everything tastes good because of how hungry you are. NoT the case today. Let me tell you the most decent and just average edible item we had was the spicy tuna over crispy rice. Ugh, what a complete disappointment. Beginning with poor business practice to every item we ordered. Our server was about the best thing in that place. He was professional and nice. If you want to spend the money drive an extra 15 minutes.....please go to Roka Akor for the same price you will have an amazing meal that stands the test of time, time after time.

Came here based off of the 4.5 rating - tbh when i first walked in i thought it was closed it was a ghost town - we were seated finally and the young man who served us seemed like he’s never waited on a table before - my guest had a beer - he brought it over with the cap still on it and we asked if it could be opened and he brought over a bottle opener for him - it was a little weird but ok - the menus were like hand written and when i asked about certain items on the menu the server stated he didn’t know much about the menu or food - i was at that point pretty worried so it kept it super short there - we tried a simple california roll and a spicy scallop roll - the scallop roll was pretty good and the california roll was the norm - the selection on rolls is pretty slim - i read it’s still during a soft opening period and they are just opening - i don’t know if i’d return but the decor and location was nice - i hope it improves!

This was 12:30 PM on a Friday, the whole restaurant was empty except 2 other tables were dining in.

Nigiri sashimi combo and chirashi- was probably hands down the worst I've seen in a while. I literally spent 100 for 2 people for lunch and they literally just gave us salmon and tuna. The waitress did not checkin with our table for a long time, so we had to call her over.

When the ordered cocktail had not yet arrive midway through the meal, we again caught waitress’ attention and asked about the drink and we had to ask again after another wait. When it did finally arrive, it had minimal to no alcohol. This may have been an issue with the bar.

Ordered the Chimichurri steak that was supposed to include a salad, but the salad was never delivered to the table.

Two other orders didn’t ever make it to the table either. The food arrived at the table at different times, instead of our main courses being delivered at once so we could enjoy eating together.

Our party was only 3 people, so it wasn’t a large group to manage.

While the Chimichurri steak and the sexy dragon were delicious, the cocktail was a fail as was the service. We had to request to get items off the bill that were not delivered and were only comped for the cocktail.

The meal was on a Saturday night and was packed around 6:30pm, but seemed to be pretty empty two hours or so later.

The waitress was always nice towards to us. Don’t know if the missing food items were on her or the kitchen.

We had to reach out to the manager to get the food items that were not delivered off our bill. He noted that two waitresses had called off that day. Personal opinion is that if you are short staffed (or you have newer staff), the manager needs to visit the tables (without customers asking him to) so that he can proactively address issues in a more timely manner. The removal of items never delivered to the table from the bill was appropriate, as was the comping of the drink due to delay and lack of alcohol. However given the overall experience, I would have expected with something like a comped dessert or a discount for a returned visit.

While my meal was delicious and the atmosphere was nice, the service was the worst that I have experienced. Given the overall experience and cost, I would not recommend this restaurant...
