I recently visited Tavern On The Glen with a small group of friends and had an overall mixed experience. The establishment itself is beautiful, and from the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed, even though we were slightly underdressed. The host assured us it was no issue, which set a great tone for the evening.
Our waitress, Iva, was fantastic—friendly, engaging, and attentive. We enjoyed our drinks, had a great time, and even got to meet the owner, who was an incredibly genuine and kind person. After settling our bill, we decided to move to the bar for one more drink, which unfortunately is where the night took a turn.
Initially, the bartender, Ali, seemed friendly, but after I asked a simple question about the espresso beans used in their espresso martinis (as a coffee enthusiast, I was just making small talk), she suddenly became aggressive. She began yelling at me, visibly intoxicated—more so than many of the actual customers. She demanded to see my ID, then proceeded to berate me for several minutes, making inappropriate remarks, using phrases like "f* around and find out," and saying things like, “I don’t grow the beans in my backyard, you know!” and implying that I was just a young, drunk customer trying to cause trouble—none of which was the case.
To make matters worse, I later realized she had overcharged me for my drinks while openly giving out free drinks to others, including herself. It was not only unprofessional but also unfair, especially considering how she treated me.
It was a deeply uncomfortable and embarrassing situation, not just for me but for everyone witnessing it. It’s disheartening to see this happen in what is otherwise a well-run establishment. The owner clearly cares about his business, and it’s unfortunate that someone representing it would act in such an unprofessional manner.
I hope this was just an isolated incident, but I felt it was important to share my experience—especially since the bartender herself insisted I leave this review.
I would consider returning because of the great service from the rest of the staff and the quality of the place itself, but only if changes are made to ensure all employees uphold the same level of professionalism as the rest...
Read moreParking is tough. You may have to drive around a bit. Bright and airy. Not loud as most patrons were sitting outside with ample outdoor seating. Like other restaurants along Patriot blvd, there's plenty of outdoor seating.
We visited a few weeks ago with a party of five (not the 90s TV primetime soap) but five friends who were supposed to go somewhere else and that place moved out all their tables. So, we made a quick call and there were tables available. We drive a few minutes into the Glen and find parking in a small lot nearby. The restaurant was quite empty for a Saturday night. They had ample seating inside and outside.
We were seated inside on the upper level (which is just two steps up from the main floor, so no drastic climb to a second story or anything).
They have a very nice menu with a lot of options (see picture). Three people in our group got the chicken parm. They don't tell you this at the restaurant, but three people can share one chicken parm. It is huge! It's the size of the plate itself! And it comes with a side (I think pasta). And it was delicious.
I ordered the Char-broiled Skirt Steak. It is wagyu beef - very tender and delicious. However, it's $14 more than the chicken parm and if you like that just as much, you get way more in the latter - which is a way better bang for your buck.
Lastly, and the 5th person in our party got the Greek Cobb salad, and again, it was huge, and fresh!
Once done and dessert was not ordered because we were all so full from our large meals. However, once we paid our bill, they didn't rush us out as they were open, and many other tables were available; they just let us sit and chat as long as we wanted. They are open until 11pm and didn't rush us out - which is not the norm these days. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming, and of course, the food is delicious! It's well worth the visit and I hope is open much longer than the predecessors in...
Read moreAbsolutely phenomenal experience at Tavern on the Glen! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and an atmosphere that perfectly blends rustic charm with upscale comfort. The attention to detail in both the décor and the service is truly top-notch.
Now let’s talk about the food—incredible doesn’t even begin to cover it. Every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavor. The ingredients were clearly fresh and thoughtfully sourced. Whether you’re craving a hearty steak, fresh seafood, or elevated comfort classics, this place nails it. The menu has something for everyone, and every bite was better than the last.
The drinks are just as impressive. The bar offers an amazing selection of craft cocktails, wines, and local brews. You can tell the bartenders know their craft—each cocktail we tried was balanced and bold in the best way.
Service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food and guest experience. It’s rare to find a place where every staff member seems to go above and beyond, but Tavern on the Glen delivers that and more.
This is not just a dinner—it’s a destination. Whether you’re out for a casual night with friends, a romantic dinner, or a family celebration, Tavern on the Glen is hands down one of the best restaurants around. Can’t wait to come...
