First time visit in a former IHOP space. It was large and fairly clean with a quiet, respectable worker mopping the now-uncarpeted floors.
I made it past the line of order counter menu-gapers and ordered a Fish N Chips - hold the tartar sauce. And hold it they did! So many eateries ignore that request but here it was even on my receipt! Thank you so much.
The fries that came with the order -- from my experience, not exactly "chips" in the English sense -- were of regular, American, crinkle-cut fries thickness, hot, lightly salted, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Excellent job and I liked them better than English chips.
And the three pieces of deep-fried, battered fish were also hot, crispy on the outside, and meaty on the inside. They weren't as flavorful as the fries but a tall, full shaker of salt at my table was able to address that to mood and preference.

I always thought this place was a chain of Greek diners, but it’s more like the Greek McDonald’s. Fast, but not fancy.
I had the Gyro dinner, and my wife went for the skirt steak sandwich. Neither of us was wowed, but it did the job. The gyro meat was on the dry side, and even with the sauce, it didn’t quite save it. Everything was super salty, with that overprocessed taste that doesn’t do your taste buds any favors. On the bright side, the pita and Greek potatoes were actually pretty damn good.
My wife liked her skirt steak sandwich, though it was more chewy than we expected. Thankfully, I’ve got a jaw like a pro wrestler, so I took one for the team and swapped meals for a bit.
The place was packed, but the service was fast and friendly.
I might give Dengeos another shot, maybe at a different location. For...
Read morePretty nice spot, very similar to Yorky’s in the Western suburbs if you are familiar. Kid friendly and laid back environment. Reasonable prices and reasonable (not very big) portion sizes. I wish they had a roasted/lemon Greek potato as an offering - some people put pics in their reviews but we weren’t given as an option. The gyro is the standard ground meat gyro - wish they had pork gyro too. They had helium filled balloons for kids which was a winner for us. Got crowded after 5:30 ish on a Sunday. They have the best dispenser napkins anywhere in Chicago. I mean it, it was amazing (small things in life). The only place I’ve been to that put anchovies in the Greek salad - which was fine for me but not so for the wifey. Our toddler did not like the hotdog. He said it had a “hard shell”… so he doesn’t like the casing, oh well… can’t please those...
