Egg Harbor Cafe — Restaurant in Northfield Township

I was in there yesterday at 10 am to pick up my order. The two kids seemed very lost that were out front. I asked for my order, the guy said he can’t find it. The girl came over and found my order written on a piece of paper that she wrote down. She forgot to enter my order, so I watched her enter it and then charged me. I asked the male kid when will it be ready, he said soon. I then asked the manager for help and she went back to check on it. Then the girl came up to me and said they put the wrong cheese on both my orders(skillets). I have never seen so much disorganized people in all my life. I finally got my order and the manager apologized and gave me two drinks for my troubles. I got back to my office with my wife to finally eat ( less than 5 minutes away) and the food was barely warm and over cooked. My wife could not eat the bacon, it was all burnt. The potatoes and ham was burnt on mine, the cheese was melted in and hard. We were very disappointed in this whole situation. You have lost our business and we always go to the egg harbor in Geneva and never have a problem. But the Glenview Restraunt is absolutely horrible! I hope you can fix this, for no one else should experience...

Ordered from here while in Northbrook, IL. My husband and I both ordered for delivery. He ordered an omelet, potatoes, bacon and toast. I ordered the Swedish Crepes, eggs with cheese, bacon and potatoes.

The food arrived promptly and was well presented in sturdy "To Go" containers and included plastic ware which was nice. The delivery through Door Dash was seamless and pleasant.

Now for the food. My husband wasn't real impressed, neither was I for that matter. When asked how his brunch was he stated "just okay". Although the omelet was prepared per menu specs it lacked flavor and was under seasoned. My food was also lacking flavor due to being under seasoned. The crepes weren't true crepes and what I have come to expect when ordering them. They tasted like regular pancake batter poured thin. They weren't good. I will say the bacon was cooked to perfection 👌.

Overall, the food was presented well, the order was accurate and the delivery was great. However, we probably won't return due to the inauthentic crepes and the lack of flavor in key components of our meals.The value and quality for the money just want...

Despite some bad reviews, we visited this location more often than the Lake Forest location. The food is good, the service ok, but teenage hosts are terrible, and they lack people skills. You can tell they don't want to be there. We have been there multiple times at this location and have seen people bringing their dogs and dining out. Our son is autistic and has ADHD; we got our little Havanese puppy with us since it helps our son to relax. The hosts denied entrance, said dogs are not allowed, and told us there was a 40 min wait. We shouldn't have the need to pull a "Karen" on them but when you have seen several people with no visual disabilities bring their dogs, why are we being denied our son to bring his puppy?
