Honey Tree Grille — Restaurant in Northville Charter Township

This past Sunday 7/30 at around 3pm I walked in to place a carry out order. The first young lady was very welcoming and listened to my order. Then an older woman in her 50s-60s with blonde (?) hair walks in behind the counter to enter the order into the computer because she wouldn't let the young lady do it for some reason, young lady had said something like "how am I going to learn if I cant do it?". This older woman was not warming, did not greet me, and is why I'm entering this review. She asks three times what the order was, which was two chicken quesadillas and an order of sweet potato fries, enters it into the computer then tells me my total (about $21.xx). I pay with $40 and receive over $30 in change. I politely informed her about the excess change and laid out the cash on the counter, but turns out I had to argue with her that she gave me too much change (sure I could've not said anything but its the "do unto others" golden rule). Once she realized she gave me too much, she snatched the extra change back. She did not apologize or say 'thank you'. Another young lady stepped behind the counter as I had basically asked the older lady again to confirm my change (the younger lady heard me say that I should get about $18 back and nodded her head). Decided to stop in for a quick breakfast since we were in the area. Place is nice on the inside and very presentable. Menu is not big but has some nice breakfast choices. For not being busy, it took 20 minutes to get our order. Food was not hot at all. Toast had been sitting for some time. It was obvious that the kitchen messed up on part of the order and must have had to remake part of it. However, the rest of the meal suffered. Wait staff was nice but not very punctual. What caught us off guard was when they asked it they could take our glasses….prior to even bringing the bill. The fact that we were still drinking our water I guess didn’t matter I won’t be returning, but I would still recommend giving the place a try. If your food isn’t to your liking, send it back. Hopefully they will be able to correct...

The food was ok; about what you’d expect from a diner-class restaurant. Had a Greek salad, gyro & fries. It’s been a long while since I’ve experienced service that actually made me uncomfortable. Dined solo. I ordered around 7:20p. Closing posted as 9p. I was not the only one there. It was as if these two waitresses wanted to rush me out of there to close up and leave. Plates cleared at the moment of the last forkful. Half a plate of fries removed while still working on them. Check brought before I could order dessert and again before ordering carry-out for a family member. “Is there anything else I can get you?” “Yes, please: some more napkins.” She brought one paper napkin (in addition to the one in which my knife & fork had been wrapped). Clearly not a place to dine leisurely and catch up...
