I usually love this place and have been multiple times. I also frequent the hotel and golf course. However, last night was one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had. I brought my mom and my sister here to show them how great the service was, how good the small plates were, and how attentive the servers were. When we walked in, they escorted us to our table which was fine but I asked if they had some in the back so we could have more privacy (it was empty at the moment). The hostess was kind and said she’d check because they had a lot of reservations that night. I thanked her. We were still standing by the table when our waitress came. She asked if we wanted water and I told her not now, we’re seeing if the hostess can move us. She walked away rolling her eyes loudly saying “I’ll let the manager handle that!” I found that odd because we were already being taken care of but I let it go. We were then seated where we requested by the hostess which was great because no one was seated in the back section with us except for one couple for the entire night (maybe some people cancelled). The waitress came back and seemed like she was rushing us. My mom asked more mocktail options and she told her on the last pages. My mom couldn’t find it. She didn’t help. She then went on to (unprompted) say how there is coke and sprite but she couldn’t give her any soda that she wanted because “there are no soda fountains down here”. Seemingly innocent but is said it with a negative connotation and looked at us weird. Then she just turned around and walked away. Not asking if we needed help selecting drinks or anything. At this point I asked my mom and sister if they thought she was rude and they agreed. I wanted to ask for another waitress because I saw that everyone else was being treated with respect by theirs and we weren’t. They were opposed to that because they wanted to give her a chance and “enjoy the evening without conflict”. I agreed because I wanted them to have a stress free night but was horrified of keeping her as our waitress.
She came back briefly and asked if we were ready. I told her to give us a minute. She frustratedly walked away and didn’t come back for a long time. When she finally came back, she took our order hurriedly. I asked her to surprise me with a mocktail but I didn’t want the Grotto punch. She didn’t ask my preferences like they usually do. She barely gave eye contact. I told her to specifically not give me pineapple, kiwi, or coconut because I’m allergic (the Grotto punch had pineapple). She came back with a Grotto punch for me (it looked identical to my mom’s and she tasted it. It was the same) just in a different glass. I was hoping she left out the pineapple. By the time I went home, my tongue was swollen. I also asked if the lamb chops came rare because I know they usually serve it like that. She said yes so I requested it well done. She said ok and left after we made our order. When another lady came with the food, the lamb chops were completely raw was just the edges browned. I told her we ordered it well done and she said she’d bring it back to be cooked more. It made me uncomfortable that meat that had been off the fire for that long was being sent back to be cooked longer. Wonder why they didn’t start with a new lamb chop or at least give us different greens because the raw meat was touching it. Would’ve preferred a new plate altogether. Didn’t say anything because my family requested I didn’t but I didn’t touch it. I let them eat that one. The wagyu meatballs, fries, and flatbread were good as usual. The waitress came back in the area with the waitress who served our food. She briefly checked on us and then mouthed something to the other waitress while looking at us. The other waitress looked uncomfortable. After that, the other waitress who served us our food initially was so kind. She checked on us multiple times, asked us if we wanted our picture taken together, and asked what the occasion was. Dessert was ok. Barely want...
Read moreI’m very disappointed with our experience here. We were celebrating a birthday and had made reservations here a month ahead of time. When we got to our table we were saying hello to each other and the waitress came over saying we all needed to sit down because the table that was vacant next to us would be occupied shortly. ….. btw- nobody ever was sat there the whole night.
There were six couples asking for separate checks. The waitresses complained about that and kept bringing it up that they don’t usually do this and it’s hard for them. One was even open to suggestions as to how to do it, by labeling couples with numbers. They continued to complain about this.
Then a waitress dropped off food and said “if you want to eat you need to clear the table.” It was unreal. Rude and unreal. We all stared with jaws dropped.
It continued. Multiple waitresses obviously annoyed with us being there. Then one person said to her something about it being obvious she doesn’t want us here and is treating us unfairly. She said “you got your drinks didn’t you?” It was very rude and she continued to speak down to us. I’ve never experienced the rudeness and blatant disrespect. We closed the night early from there due to the wait staff being so rude and incompetent. It’s unfortunate for them because we took our business elsewhere for that evening. We were also disappointed to see there was an automatic 22% gratuity added to each bill because the service was absolutely horrible. I hope their management recognizes that this is six families in the local area that had such a negative experience during a birthday party where we were happy to celebrate, that we will not be coming back.
Very unfortunate because the atmosphere is great but the service was so poor that we had to all leave and take our...
