Terrible customer service and management at Mother's Pizza tonight. I placed an order at 6:13pm for one ex large pizza. At 6:30pm my son went in to get the pizza. They told him it would be another 15 min. When I went in at 6:43 (when the email/website said the pizza would be ready) I was told mine would be up next it was in the oven. Then I was told that they had only gotten my order 20 minutes prior which was a lie.
I stood there waiting for another 10 minutes. At that point I asked to talk to a manager. Again, my son was told 15 minutes at 6:30pm. Then they told me my pizza would be ready in 6 minutes and the other guy waiting just had his put in and it would be 7 minutes. Somehow his order of 3 extra large pizzas and bread came out before mine. When I asked him when he ordered, it was after me.
At this point I once again asked to talk to a manager. My pizza still wasn't ready. Finally about 5 minutes later my pizza came out at like 7:05pm. When they tried to give me the pizza I said, no, I would like to talk to a manager. A girl about 16/17 came up and said she was acting as the manager and that it had only been 40 minutes. I showed my email stating 6:13pm and asked for a refund, she refused to give me one. I said, well I am refusing this pizza. And again asked for a manager. She took the pizza into the back and said one would come out.
At this point my boyfriend came in and asked for a manager. When the manager came up he said, I took your pizza, your getting your money back you can go now. No apologies...and then walked back into the kitchen.
On the way home we ordered from Pizza Cutter and 15 minutes later we had a pizza! If they had told my son at 6:30 it would be another 30 minutes we would have asked for a refund then. Instead we were lied to over and over again that it was in the oven, coming up next, almost done, etc. I think the icing on the cake was the guy who ordered 3 ex large pizzas AFTER ME! And the manager was BEYOND rude. Who knows if I have my refund as they refused to do it while...
Read moreWhat happened to Mothers??! This place is definitely nowhere near the way it used to be before they expanded and remodled and it's very clear it's under new ownership. Our server was maybe 14 years old and if he wasn't a family member of the owner, he wouldn't have a job in this industry. He forgot what we asked for as soon as he walked 20 feet from our table and stood around chatting with his other family members. We had to ask for water twice, had to ask for soft drink refills, and when he finally did bring water he apologized and told us he was busy.....he must have forgotten that we had a clear view of him from our table.
The service was ridiculously SLOW. They weren't busy and it took at least 30 minutes to get breadsticks and almost an hour for one large pizza. The food was decent, but not like before. The menu is huge now and it feels like they're trying to do too much, too soon.
A family walked in and was sat next to us and asked for a highchair - no one in the place knew if they even had a highchair (or booster seat), and finally when the owner called out from behind the register that they don't have highchairs, the family got up and left. How do you not have highchairs??!!
Last but not least, when we got our bill, I saw a 3% admin fee was added. I asked the server what that charge was for, and he said he had no clue and just stood there. I told him to please go ask someone and he came back and said it's a charge to use a credit card. Mind you, this was BEFORE he even knew how I was paying. I asked what if I pay cash and again he didn't know how to answer, but finally said it's a fee no matter how you pay.
VERY BAD experience and we won't go back. If you do go, be sure to check your bill for the admin fee that's added before they even know how you...
Read moreI hate to do this since they seem like good people, but the pizza is really bad. We ordered a Margherita and plain cheese pizza to supplement a home meal. The margherita was so bad, the table burst out laughing as I told everyone to mark this moment as the worst margherita they will have eaten to date, with the plain cheese being upgraded to well below average. Specifically, it had a huge heap of regular shredded mozzarella (none fresh) to be quite thick, no basil, and oddly some garlic, with no other offsetting favorable characteristics (I.e., great crust), so completely off-character. The cheese pizza definitely fell flat, but nothing to specifically call out except the overall flavor profile. One of us even said we’ve had much better frozen pizza, which was so sad but true. We of course didn’t finish either pie, but saved leftovers for others that had not yet arrived for them to ‘mark their moment’ of the tasting.
We picked up our pies (ate them within 20 minutes), and looked like a cute place, but just don’t order their pizzas.
RESPONSE TO OWNER’S COMMENTS: You’re partially right. I should have more clearly stated that while I disagree with your interpretation of “margherita pizza” (which I believed was as classic as a cheeseburger, very straightforward in my original comment), you do have a description of ingredients. In fact, you have a fairly accurate picture. I also regret stating it was a laughable moment, which is insensitive the more I think about it: No one likes being laughed at. I think one easy step is to not call it a Margherita pizza at all.
However, there was no “lie” and nothing laughable about my/group’s opinion in my original comment: zero. The views were not exaggerated in any way, leading me to maintain my...
