I haven’t been to P.F. Chang’s in a while, My seven-year-old granddaughter wanted to come last week. It is her favorite restaurant. Last week when we came for dinner, we had an exceptional waiter, I don’t remember his name. The food was absolutely delicious! Her children’s fried rice with chicken and broccoli was the best I’ve ever seen it. Every time she had it before they were just little flicks or slivers of breading with such a small itsy-bitsy piece of chicken that you could barely see it. This time, they gave her nice big pieces of chicken in her fried rice. I was so impressed. She was so happy! Her favorite waiter at this particular P.F. Chang’s is Matt, but it was a really long wait to get a table with him , we did, however; get an incredible other gentleman that waited on us. Today, I thought I would stop in for a late lunch early dinner and get the new pad Thai. It is so good! The waitress I had today was a sweet girl. However, I had to take some home so she brought me a container and a bag. I thought OK I guess I have to pack it up myself. I got a bit, spoiled by the gentleman we had last week, actually packed our leftovers up for us and it was a busy Friday night. Today waitress asked me if I wanted any dessert and told me they had a gluten-free chocolate soufflé. I said sure! I had to take it with me because I was too full from the pad Thai and even had leftovers from that. She brought me a bag and it contained what you will see in the photo less than a small muffin sized chocolate soufflé and some ice cream over ice. There was never any mention of ice cream. The soufflé was $11.29! Ouch ouch ouch I did not know that little itsy-bitsy three or four bites of chocolate would cost me so much money. I didn’t see a menu so I didn’t see the price. She mentioned the chocolate soufflé, but never mentioned the ice cream , I am lactose intolerant and cannot have ice cream. I politely explained to her that I am lactose intolerant, I left the untouched, unopened ice cream. I told her I did not know that it contained ice cream. She said she was sorry and left it at that. No offer to remove it from my bill or ask if there was anything she could do for me. I learned a valuable lesson and that is to look at the dessert menu myself to see what is included in the desert and especially the price. This is way too small of a dessert to cost $11.29 , it would’ve been nice of her to tell me that it came with ice cream. I would not have ordered the dessert. I still left her a 20% tip which I was hesitant to do but I have a really kind heart a lot of times I will tip 25 and 30% or more if I have got outstanding service. I’m a little reluctant to come back although I really love the pad thai. I will request a different server next time and I will look at the menu so I know how much I’m going to pay for a few bites of dessert. When you see the photo, you can tell how tiny the chocolate soufflé is because the little container with some raspberry sauce in it is...

Two weeks ago, my girlfriend and I ordered the Chef’s Special for Two from the prix fixe menu. She didn’t touch her entrée, so it was wrapped to go. The next day, on my first bite, I pulled a hair—clearly not ours—out of my mouth. Disgusted, we immediately called the restaurant and spoke with a manager, who assured us he would personally take care of the situation the next time we visited.
On February 13th, we returned, expecting that commitment to be honored. Instead, we encountered one of the most dismissive, arrogant, and unprofessional managers I have ever dealt with—Kevin. From the moment he approached our table, his demeanor was cold and unwelcoming—no smile, no apology, no professionalism—just a blank stare and condescension. He acted as if he was doing us a favor by even listening, as though we were somehow at fault for expecting basic customer service—or as if finding hair in our food was just something we should accept as normal.
When I asked for a simple resolution—removing one meal from our prix fixe order—he refused, citing “technical limitations” in the system. Instead, he offered a take-home meal, which was not an acceptable resolution under the circumstances. His attitude made it clear that he had no real interest in addressing the issue, and when I pressed further, his arrogance only escalated. Ultimately, I became so frustrated that I told him to walk away, which he did—shrugging as if this was beneath him, as if serving food with hair in it was somehow our problem, not theirs. At that point, we were so appalled and uncomfortable that we decided to leave before even eating dinner.
Mistakes happen in restaurants, but how they are handled defines a business. Kevin’s behavior wasn’t just unprofessional—it was insulting. A real manager is accommodating, professional, and committed to ensuring a positive guest experience. Instead, we were treated as if we were an inconvenience. If this is the level of customer service P.F. Chang’s stands by, it speaks volumes about your company’s values.
We won’t be back, and P.F. Chang’s corporate has already...
Read moreWell first the hostess offered us a place to put our cake until we were ready for it so I thought that was very nice. After we received it our server came over and asked us for beverages his name was Dominic he was very good. He did not inform us that there was no sushi available until he mistakenly thought I said something about tempura and then he mentioned that there was no sushi available I was a little down about that. However the drink that I ordered from the bar once you got there was really good try one of their house cocktails they were blended very nicely. I ended up eating the short rib fried rice I also had calamari and edamame as an appetizer hey the center of the table spins in order to share advertisers and things with the rest of your group if you are at a larger table. The fried rice was a little greasy but otherwise the flavor was good the calamari was perfectly fried the dipping sauce was delicious and of course edamame was edamame 4 out of 5 stars will return I did bring my own chopsticks as I don't like the wooden ones
Edit! we went back this year server was okay My drink came from the bar not fully garnished someone else at my table order the same thing theirs was fully garnished. I let them know that it was someone at our table birthday and all he did was bring out the little cake and ice cream they didn't even bring us this sparkler in the wine bottle this time so no video of our friend. I ordered the Kung Pao dragon roll It was decent It was supposed to be smoked at the table but I guess they don't do that anymore so they just bring it out with a dome over it that the smoke was piped into. I didn't get a little side cup for my soy so I had to pour it onto a very large plate. They did upgrade their wooden chopsticks so they are better than the cheap ones that...
