Ordered a wedding cake from them for my September 2022 wedding and we LOVED IT!!!!! We chose the cannoli flavor. We got a lot of advice to keep it simple from our family and friends but this was such a hit at the wedding! It was SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! It was honestly perfect, a lot of our guests got seconds and they were not tiny pieces, we even had enough to save the top layer. Guese asked us after the wedding where we got the cake from because it was so impressive. The venue unfortunately left the cake out and we didn't realize until 2 days later (we were very tired at the end of the night lol) and worst part is we moved out of state a few days after the wedding, we cannot wait to visit CT in December and order this cake to enjoy with our entire family (we will be asking for advice on freezing individually pieces to enjoy over time haha!!)
We went in one day since we were already in the area and figured we might as well scheduled a time to get samples, they were so kind and discussed options with us in detail. Due to our scheduled we were very limited but they offered to prep samples and we can pick them up. This was so convenient, when we showed up later that week to pick them up we waited for maybe 5 minutes while they prepared the samples on the spot. I actually love that they did this as we did not have a set time during this day due to work, and this ensured we had fresh samples. We tried 3 flavors with various combinations added to the samples and all were SO GOOD! The cannoli was our favorite!!!!!! We inhaled it immediately haha
When we booked our venue we were notified we had to use this bakery, I was a bit scared at first as I sampled a few other bakeries and were not impressed with them and of course there are tons to choose from. The fact that I did not have to worry about making this choice was great and they were PERFECT!!!! I don't usually like when venues make us use specific vendors but this was the best...
Read moreI am 100% Italian and I've been shopping at Angela Mia's for over forty years. At Crristmas and other holidays I buy a bunch of their pastries for my big family gatherings. I just love their pastries! We all do! However, I'm in Florida now and I was craving something from their bakery. So, I called and orderd a few pounds of their cookies a week ago. I just received them today after one week. Oh boy, am I dissapointed!!! Nowhere half as good as I expected!!! Plus, my favorite cookie wasn't even included! Not even one! They told me I would get an assortment of all their cookies. But, that wasn't true! Plus, they're all soft and almost mushy! I am so very dissapointed I am beside myself. To top it off, instead of their store price of $16.50 a pound. I wasn't even told with shipping it cost me over $30.00 a pound!!! Definately not at all worth the wait!!! Chow! NOTE: The following is being posted the very next day by: Michael: I just spoke to the lady in charge of Angela Mia's Bakery; Angela herself! Our conversation has re-established my relationship and faith in her bakery! The fact is: The reason for the lost quality in shipping my order was because the shipment took an extra two days to receive over the weekend! Plus Monday was a holiday. As it turns out, it was just a matter of sircumstances beyond her control! Angela graciously offered me a resolution to my order and a resolve to any future orders not withstanding weekends. Our conversation was pleasant and reasuring! By the way, I told her that today I re-baked the cookies at a low temp and they turned out near perfect!!! Thank you Angela...
Read moreEdit: Went back in several times to find their turnovers were sold out. This isn't why the change in review though! When I finally went in and found they still had turnovers, I excitedly bought one, only to realize why they still had them left over. What made them delicious was that it tasted like homemade, like someone had carefully cut and seasoned the apples and folded it in the puff pastry. When I bought one the second time, it tasted identical to the Pillsbury apple filling, a lot of canned "apple filling sauce" and very little real apple. I guess whoever did it by hand, the proper way, was on vacation or had retired or something, because whoever did it this time took the easy way out. It was not the same. It wasn't even close to being handmade anymore. Unfortunately I won't be returning because I'm not going to risk paying for a Pillbury turnover filling I could do at home.
Original Review: They're good! They do puff pastry amazingly , their turnovers are some of the best I've had however their Napoleon isn't great. The top icing part is dry and breaks apart when it should be moist. I don't know if it was old because it was end of day, dried out because it was in the chilled part of the bakery or if it was made incorrectly? Had I been able to see it better I wouldn't have ordered it (hence why I'm warning anyone who cares about that). Their eclairs are made with the usual custard cream instead of whipped cream too (not a complaint but I know some people look for the whipped cream! Try their...
