Silver Star Diner in Norwalk is an excellent diner. The staff is always extremely courteous and friendly no matter the time of day. Gus especially is great and always has a joke to tell or make you laugh which is great. I usually always get the same item every time which is the chicken souvlaki platter. It's done very well. The chicken is always moist and flavored perfectly and the tziki sauce is excellent. On a side not the cole slaw is also very good along with the French fries. The side salad that comes with the chicken souvlai platter is also very good. There's some kind of I think fig leaf wrapped over rice (forgive me if I am wrong on what kind it is. I'm not Greek) but it's great. For desert they have a wide variety of cakes and pastries but I always go for the cheesecake which they make in house and is excellent. Glass of milk and/or a coffee with a slice of cheesecake and you know you're in for a treat. Last night they even had fresh cannoli dipped in chocolate on both ends. I ate it all like a pig and enjoyed every bite of my meal. It's conveniently located right off of exit 14 off rt95 across from REI (which you can see from 95). Like literally right off the exit and open 24 hours a day. It's been my go to diner for some time now. The rest of the menu is large and most everything I've seen come out of the kitchen looks great but like I said I stick to my particular favorite with out exception. I'd highly recommend you give Silver Star Diner a try for yourself. I've never been dissapointed or left with out a smile on my face.

Young server was excellent, she was friendly and efficient. Desserts are delicious here!! Next visit- friendy, great server. Food was delicious! Next visit. Had a delicious Greek Salad and a stuffed pastrami on rye sandwich. Also ordered a quart of Avglolemono Soup - YUMMM. Good service. Well this was not a good visit. Bowl of Avglolemeno soup was bland - no lemon flavor and they used broken pieces of spaghetti instead of the recipe traditional orzo pasta?? Bland. Ordered 1/2 roasted chicken- omg what a mistake. It was slightly larger than the size of a cornish game hen. The leg was less than 3" long and the wing was a joke- nothing but skin and bone. Since it was so small- the breast meat was dry ( I had to stop trying to chew it and left it on my plate) and the thigh was the only section that resembled a freshly roasted, small bit of somewhat moist chicken meat. My fault- I should have sent it back. But the best entrees were about $35.95! So saving $12 turned out to be the worst decision. Plus- Baked Potatos should be offered the option of sour cream and chives- not done til I asked for some sc. This entree needs to be re- evaluated by the kitchen staff please.

Worst. Burger. Ever. And overpriced! You go to a diner, you expect 1 thing to be done near perfectly… a cheeseburger. This place makes me want to lift my self-imposed ban on fast food, the burger was so bad. Incredibly salty! (Did I just get food poisoning? Were they covering up the taste of E. coli? Was there an insane salt fiend cooking on the griddle today?) And “medium rare,” which I asked for, is supposed to mean pink! This was medium, maybe medium-well. And did I mention Way too salty? Server was nice, hence the 2nd star. But I will never return here, unless you pay me in unsalted, delicious meat. Sign on the wall says “BEST of the BEST” five star Diamond award… Im guessing that’s from c. 1995, or maybe ‘85?

My omelet was great, home fries raw and no good. Unfortunately a few other things were a turn off. My daughter only drinks water. So when she got her first cup she was grossed out that it had like some type of green gooey thing on it. They replaced the water. Then we noticed the water had some type of white sediment in the bottom. We were calm and simply asked if they sell bottle water- she just said no and walked away. Coffee was ok. So food was pretty decent, if ur ok with not drinking water with ur meal you will be fine. I assume they need to clean out their soda dispenser-idk. 3 stars for the omlete. Service was ok.

!OK so the diner and the food. I'm really weird so I like weird tasting things. I had an omelet with pineapples and bacon and onions. When I ordered I thought the hostess would be like ok thats gross. She was very nice and patient. The food was hot and perfect. The hostess was very attentive and not overly! When the sign said it is a family oriented restaurant I figured the average ok your kid can yell and it's ok. No, I got to meet thee sweetest little girls there. They told me all about mermaids painting and water parks lol Made my experience that much better! The atmosphere was perfect!
