Halsted Street Deli — Restaurant in Norwood Park Township

I'm pregnant and have severe morning sickness, but I ate here a few days ago and the food sat well with me. So I placed an order today for me and my son with a delivery app. I'm not sure his name, but someone called me to let me know that they were out of fruit salad I ordered for my one year old. The guy explained I could cancel the order to place it again without the fruit since he was having some trouble removing it or I could replace it with something else. He mentioned he could send someone to the store to pick one up, but I did not want him to have to do that so I just asked for a drink to replace it with. When the delivery showed up, not only did they give me the cost in drinks, but there was also a fruit salad! I wish I would have gotten the name of the worker. He definitely did not have to do this and this kindness definitely made not just my day, but my son who absolutely loves all...

Third time ordering from Halsted Street Deli and they don't disappoint. The bags had little thank you messages on it and they even wrote a couple fun riddles (with answers on the bottom). Their Reuben was delicious - large amount of corned beef and perfect amount of both sauerkraut and thousand island. Great potato salad and the pickles were fantastic. Previously tried the Vito and Big Tony, also great sandwiches! Closest location is a bit far from our home but thanks to Doordash, we will be ordering again and often. Give Halsted Street...

The owner, Mike, is very friendly and SO helpful. They have so many gluten-free and vegan options (and are willing to try new things) that my whole family was able to eat here with no problems! They made a corned beef sandwich on gluten-free bread for my son and they were able to make a vegan tuna sandwich for me on gluten-free bread with vegan mayonnaise and dairy free cheese that was delicious!
