Went to this doughnut place because my granddaughters requested it. We ordered 6 donuts, a medium smoothie, a large iced latte and a large red velvet milkshake. The plusses: 5 of our six donuts were great. Carrot cake, coconut, biscotti banana and strawberry were all tasty! My granddaughter said her chocolate Nutella donut was dry. The mango smoothie was delicious per my granddaughter, and the ice latte was ok. Def nothing special. The red velvet shake was ok, however the entire reason my granddaughter ordered it was because it was advertised as having a very cute smiling marshmallow on top of the shake. Of course hers did not come with one. I did ask the server if she could get one and was told they weren't available. Granddaughter was upset and I was not happy that they were advertising showing a drink that looked nothing like the one we got. Also the drinks were very small. Larges were comparable to grande size at Starbucks.
$47.00 for 6 donuts, and 3 drinks. That is very high to me. I have not visited Chicago or Oak Brook in awhile, but I do travel full time all year in the US and visit many different cities and bakeries. This was the most expensive one I have been to. Will not return but I am glad we at least tried it. Good but overpriced donuts, drinks...
Read moreI had been bragging to my boyfriend about Stan's for a few months. Finally went into this location last night and it was by far the worst Stan's experience...ever. Although this location closes at 10, by 9 when we walked in most of the donuts seemed to be put away. No biggie, it was late. What bothered us the most was the customer service. We weren't acknowledged by staff when we entered. Three employees were present but having a conversation of their own. One of those employees was standing in front of the glass and blocking the view to the donuts. I walked around him to see if I could get a better look at what donuts they had left (really hoping he'd step aside) but no luck. I finally said excuse me and verified they were still open. We stood there for about 5 minutes before receiving any service and when we finally did, the employee seemed more concerned with his phone than with helping us out. Never had a bad experience at any Stan's before and for the price of those donuts you'd expect them to come with at least some decent service. I guess the goal now is to take my boyfriend to a different location so he can have the experience I have had in the past and perhaps employees...
Read moreIncredibly disappointed in the lack of customer service and poor time management by an employee at this location. I can’t exactly remember the name, but I feel like it started with a D and was similar to Darryl. Not only was he dismissive and completely inconsiderate on the phone, but he also tried to gaslight me and take zero accountability for their error. The vegan croissants are a very popular menu item and when I knew I would be needing multiple later in the day, I placed an order online for them at 1:55 pm. After 4:30 PM today day I received a phone call from this employee stating that they no longer had the croissants available and they just sold the last of them. I intentionally paid and ordered ahead to prevent this issue and as someone who is vegan we already have significantly limited options, so I am extremely disappointed by their lack of management. This employee then proceeded to lie and state that my order had only been placed five minutes before he called me, which only compounded my frustration. They need to figure out their ordering system in a better way and train employees better on...
