The first time we went, it was awesome. This was about 3 months ago. The customer service was great, very personable. The food was delicious! It was a nice visit. Today, not so much. They were full but that was understandable since it as almost 5 p.m. We were seated after waiting for a little while. My daughter (10) leather mask on the table and the older gentleman who I believe is the owner, came by flustered, and asked us to put the mask away in our pockets. Stating it wasn't sanitary to leave it there. He's telling us all this with his mask only covering his mouth and not his nose. I mean...really? Okay, we didn't say anything. Then after a long while we get a waitress who looks like she does not want to be there. It was just awful. She looked so annoyed. She took our order and left. We waited for quite a while for our food and had to remind the server about our daughters side of rice. Then they tel us that there are no more tostones, ok. We had no server come to check on is or to see if we needed anything else. Mind you, the restaurant had been cleared out by this time. Oh, forgot to mention, there was no A/C. It was so hot there, I was sweating. Music was so loud from the TV's where you couldn't really have a conversation. The food was not that great this time. Before they gave us chiflas as an appetizer and today, nothing. Last time they gave my husband rice with his ceviche de concha, this time they didn't. When we got the check, they still charged us the tostones so we had to get that fixed. I don't know what happened this time but I was really disappointed. We had picked up my mother in law from the airport and wanted her to try this place and I'm bummed to say it wasn't a good exerience. We'll try again next time. Maybe when they aren't as busy and flustered...
Read moreThe food is delicious. I am giving it a 1 star for the simple reason that the portions they serve are way too small for the price they ask. For example, I ordered a ceviche de concha, the ceviche was absolutely delicious, but literally I only had 5 conchas in the ceviche ( I counted them). If I recall correctly, the ceviche was about $17.00+. That is ridiculous!!! Also, we ordered a seco de chivo, same thing, delicious, but it was mostly bone, and the portion that was served was very small, even the rice portion, too small to really satisfy the hunger, I feed my 5 year old niece bigger portions than this. The service from the new girls that are there was great. I been here twice, the first time on a week day and the service was HORRIBLE, and I mean horrible. The only reason I went back is because the people whom I was with wanted to try the restaurant. So, I was surprised that the customer service being provided was better. The owner however, very poor customer service, the owner and I believe his son both lack the customer service skills needed in order to let your customers feel welcomed, after all you are taking our money for services, make it feel worth it. It is sad that due to poor management this place might not last open for much longer. The food is in fact great, but they are extremely skimpy with the portions served. These people are not representing Ecuador well. They definitely need to analyze either the prices or the portions. Too expensive for what you are...
Read moreWaiter Attempted to serve our table a plate that had been touched after realizing she served the wrong table our plate. A no go absolutely poor hospitality. Very disappointing experience.
Edit clarifying the response below: The waitress did in fact attempt to serve me the same plate she gave the other guest. Which he touched, we watched him touch the food. She admitted she only changed the rice in the plate. Unfortunately you can’t hear that on your cameras? The only reason different plate was brought was because I refused to take the current plate, and I wanted to make sure it was not served to me again. The trust was gone. After the food was served nobody checked on us again after a long while, which was when WE asked for more chifles, because usually encebollados are served with chifles. The waitress then realized they never brought the chifles with it in the first place, which is why she brought the bigger one. She did attempt to charge us at first for it, it was the least it could be done after everything.
Siendo el único lugar que sirve comida Ecuatoriana en el área debería ser un servicio excelente. Hubiese sido mejor disculparse desde un principio y mencionar que hubo un error y volverían hacer la comida.
Working in the service industry for over 10 years I always give the employee the benefit of the doubt and the appreciation when its earn but you guys missed it.
How about you recognize we stilled tipped your server even tho she did...
