Bare Knuckle Pizza — Restaurant in Oakland

Oh boy.... You'd better LOVE his pizza. I pretty much write my reviews honestly and how I view the food. So after dining at Bare Knuckle Pizza, I decided to write a review regarding my experience. We had the non-vegan Roman. The pizza was super bland and the crust was quite wet and undercooked. The cheese was either very bland or nonexistent. The meat on it was ok.. But very small portion of it... Hard to find it unless you inspected the pizza closely. The sauce was good but nothing special. And the pie itself was quite small for the price... Pretty much 4 small slices for $21.

After posting the review, the owner responded by saying that that was just my opinion... I'm like... It's a review so yes it's MY opinion. I then posted about my experience experience on Facebook then he responded to me on there mocking me that I have no tastebuds and that I know nothing about good pizza. Go figure. Usually I have businesses apologize for a substandard experience.... But this one mocks me for not liking his pizza.

Overall, given the substandard pizza and the hostility towards customers like me... We won't be back. If you decide to eat there... You'd better LOVE his...

The pizza here is good! But the two times I went in person the service was not. Both times I was not greeted upon arrival even though it was obvious I was there. The first time I was ignored for about 5 minutes while they were chatting/catching up with customer friends. I had to interrupt and request service even though they saw me. Ironically it was the customer friends who apologized and were nice, not the staff. The second time, two people were playing video games. And I had to say something twice after already waiting. Then one of the guys said nothing to me but shouted to someone something like, “Get this one.” I told them that I like their pizza but the service is seriously lacking compared to most any other restaurant. This place is amazing. Ever since our trip to NYC over two years ago, we've talked about that pizza. We have a new favorite! This beat new York pizza hands down. Our party ordered three pizzas, all vegan and vegetarian (don't worry, they have traditional pizza too). They did get one of our pizzas wrong but were super quick to fix it and I didn't wait long at all for my corrected pizza. We haven't been able to STOP talking about this pizza! Everything about it was delicious. We almost ordered a second round as takeaway pizzas. We came from South Bay to visit a family member working in Oakland temporarily and wanted pizza. So glad we found this place. We'll definitely be making the hour drive to this place again. Hopefully soon. Must try it.....you won't be disappointed. The staff are...
