Adequate buffet, good value for seafood lovers. When you enter, you'll be greeted and you'll pay $27 per person. The seating forms a U-shape around the food area. I decided to sit in a booth, but there were tables and chairs available too. They seemed reasonably clean and I spotted an employee wiping tables. There isn't a vast selection of food, but there is a variety. The fries were too salty and not crispy, the Jell-O was a bit chewy like there wasn't enough water used, the chow mein and fried rice were decent, the ice cream had to be scooped with the tiniest scoops I've ever seen and didn't have the flavors labeled, and the beef (?), lumpia, and fried chicken were really chewy. The pizza wasn't good, but was edible. The items I enjoyed were rice pudding, California roll, a green ice cream, and fried plantains. The ice cream didn't taste like any flavor, but it was good. Surprisingly, the California rolls tasted like they were made with real crab. Speaking of seafood, they have plenty of it. I don't like seafood, but I know it's sort of expensive, so I'd recommend coming here if you want to fill yourself up on it. I'd avoid the sashimi though. Other reviewers have said that the food is cold. During my visit, the cooked foods weren't piping hot, but I could feel through the plate that they were warm and they cooled down a bit after I had walked around the food area. The restroom didn't smell bad, but it had graffiti and some of the partitions were rusting. At least there was hot running water. Most of the customers seemed to be families. At $27/person, this restaurant is an affordable place for groups to fill up on foods that are barely a step up from the Burger King across the street. I don't expect much from buffet restaurants. This restaurant isn't great, but it's not horrible, which is why I'm rating it three stars. I don't plan on visiting this place again, but I wouldn't dread coming here.

In case you haven't been there before: here is a summary of my experience with NYC buffet (10/22/2022). This restaurant looks to be short of staff. Employee attitude was ok, not bad. 1. Location- ghetto area, graffiti and trash everywhere around the neighborhood. 2. Parking- park in rear, number of spaces is limited. 3. Restaurant entrance- at corner by the traffic light 4. Pay as you enter- we (2 children 4 and 6 years, 3 teens, and 2 adults=155$ for lunch @ 2:15pm on Saturday). 5. Sit at any table you choose. 6. Cleanliness- no, this is the messiest and dirtiest buffet restaurant I have ever dine-in in California. Old fries, food crumbs, napkins, straw or chop stick wrapper were on the floor, under tables. Tables were not wiped off nor cleaned after customers leave for the next ones. Food counter tops don't seem to be cleaned either. The men restroom is dirty too, one of the two toilets was out of order. 7. Food- selection is very limited, many trays were empty. No sauce for sushi, only wasabi and ginger. The taste of food is alright, I'll say it's average. 8. Drinks- self serve soda fountains. 3 of the fountains were out of order at the time. 9. Recommendation- no. If you are a cleanliness person or want to feel safer, this place is not for you. I wouldn't dine here again.

Visited about 7pm with a total of 3 people. Restaurant was a little bit slow not crowded maybe 30% full. Went to wash my hands only to find the bathroom absolutely filthy with standing water in a bucket under the sink, dripping, leaking urinals and yeah on the floor, not a good start. Grabbed a plate of food, everything looked like it had been picked over and there were many items that had very little left. Most of the items tasted the same with a heavy oily overtone. The deep fried fish was safe and although a bit dry, one of the best items I tried. On a scale of one to ten I'd rate it a 4, maybe 4.5. one of the employees was dumping soy sauce into a bucket in front of us and then refilling them, presumably after he washed them, however the bucket of soy sauce sat there in the open with flies and guests walking by anyone of which could have contaminated it. The carpets had that matted down sticky feel as you walked across them. If your desperate this place might work however for nearly$60 for three, I'd head to a traditional Chinese restaurant, have them come 4to5 selections for your fresh and share them for the same or less money. China Town in Oakland has some ahhhmazzzzzing Chinese restaurants.

Whao this was such a disappointment this place is FREAKING TERRIBLE!!!!!!! Iam planning to take my son out on he's birthday on the weekend because he's birthday is actually today but nobody do much on a Tuesday so I told my son until the weekend would you like to go have dinner at our local buffet, he said yes so we did. Upon arrival the receptionist/cashier couldn't understand me he's English was terrible ( no offense I'm not like that) but honestly I couldn't understand a single word. I ask him politely if they offer a birthday discount he only said 'i don't know I don't know same same 28.00 dollas" so I said " huh huh 28.00 dollars Each so no discount I mean is okay I was just wondering " after that he said so I pay my total was 58.00 I said okay thank you . So after we go sit down we didn't like the section we first sat because it was crowded all boots so we move to the other section then he tells me "no no you sit there aw you sit here' I said "yes please too much people no privacy please and thank you " " he said "0hh okay" then after me my son are eating everything was getting cool until I got up to go get just a couple more bits that I didn't try in the first round lol 😆 because it was not looking fresh 😂 I ask him one single question because he was idk cleaning or stocking the buffet I ask him how much for a pound to go he kept saying I take how I weight machine you take salmon 13.99 you take rice or chowmein 5.99 I was like I can mix right and he said you get plate to go weight over there as he point to the machine. Basically he couldn't understand what I meant to said or explain how to go work basically to confused the Heck out of me I said never mind he said kept saying you weight you weight I only told him it's okay no worries forget he said afterwards aww okay okay ..well you just to hear him to basically understand my story and HONESTLY I'm not criticizing him or anything or fronting about how he speaks there is a lot I couldn't understand so forgive I cannot give this plane any proper rating because my experience was awful sorry hope owner could just do some...

I use to love this stuff..but the service and quality of food has decreased dramatically and no longer worth a drain of our pocket$$. Some of the vegis are soggy and look like they were re-heated or sat there all day. The meat is greasy&very salty. To be fair we were going there during busy hours(dinner) so perhaps the staff just had some bad days but for a buffet, they ran out of food too often but too slow(sometimes rude)to replace it. The sushi bar service was an interesting&humbling experience;each time I went, the samishi(salmon by itself)seem to be finished and I'd ask the guy behind the counter and he would tell me to wait 10min&then take a break then come back 15min later to prep the samishi--mind you I'm starving and came to the place looking fwd to this specific dish, but I guess that's a personal problem😳 Most(not all, there's an exceptionally FEW hands-on servers)but most of the other servers are careless about the buffet area. They let some dishes sit there dry or it'll run out&they would let it be empty until you ask a few times--or many times. I've definitely had better chinese food&service so I can point out a major difference. If these folks are careless serving the food, you can't be sure how careful they are cooking the food behind the scene. The healthier I eat,the more aware I am of food quality&service. We're definitely not going back..thank goodness my family agree with me because they were the only reason I revisited after the 1st time I noticed the downward shift in...
