Panda Kitchen is one of the only places that still serves cheap Chinese food in Oakland! Located right across the street from the Main Oakland Public Library and a few steps from Lake Merritt, they've been in business for more than 8+ years! I used to come here all the time when my daughter went to school nearby, we would come after school to have a quick affordable dinner, and we would share since the portion has always been huge! They used to display hot food in the front, and the lady would serve then and there. Now, when you place an order, it comes out fresh, so the food will be ready in 10 minutes. If you're not sure what to order, they display food items on their walls so you can pick them from there. They also display the total prices on the table so you know exactly how much you are paying!! π The portion is big and sharable. Highly recommend it if you're in the area and looking for a hole in...

I usually get shrimp fried rice with no soy sauce, beef and back bean or beef and oyster sauce, and another dish. The reason for this 4 star π is because, i dont know if they had a different chef the last time i went. I was highly disappointed. The chow mein had NO flavor at all. Also, they usually use larger shrimp. This time they were teeny tiny tinnnny shrimp. Maybe they're cutting back because prices are getting higher for...
