Was around the area and was looking for a place to have dinner with my hubs. I found this good find for ramen and skewers together. Seems it's a new place. Less than a year old based on early ratings. It's a small restaurant with friendly Japanese workers.
We ordered Tonkotsu and Tan Tan Ramen. Both had a creamy pork broth which I loved. I only wished the ramen was thicker noodles. I thought it was a small bowl but it was filled with lots of ingredients that I could have shared with my hubs and had more skewers. The Tan Tan was a little spicier broth but not overdone powering. We also ordered a few Skewers and all were flavorful and tasty. The skewers were charred just right and were not overdone or super chewy. We had Enoki Bacon, scallop Bacon, and combo(1) which consists of 1 prawn, 1 eel and 1 scallop.
We got there before the crowd came. Popular for pick up orders. Got lucky as soon as we were almost done with our meal, the place was full for a weeknight. Would like to definitely come back to try more of...
Read moreTried this new neighborhood place last week as our regular ramen spot closed down on Piedmont Ave. I was very impressed by this restaurant given that it had just recently opened as most places take some time to fine tune their menu and service. My family ordered shrimp and eel skewers as starters. My child said it was best eel they’ve ever had. We then had two different ramen selections and I had the karaage curry. It was all very good. My family has been asking for us to go back and I am happy to oblige. Service was also excellent.
Quick update: I've been to this restaurant 3 additional times since and every time the food and the service has been excellent. It's got a great neighborhood vibe and is extremely friendly and comfortable for families and kids as well. The hardest thing about any restaurant is consistency. Consistency in the quality of the food and the service. Every time I have gone here, the experience and food has been consistently...
Read moreMy family and I came here for Ramen based on the few 5 star reviews. Our experience was very different than the reviews. We started off with the mushrooms and gyoza and that is why we gave the place 2 stars. It went downhill from there. We ordered the same Tonkatsu Ramen and we got our Ramen about 3-4 minutes apart. Then when we got, the pork was room temperature and over cooked as though it was just sitting and added after the fact. The noodles were strange; the texture was like pasta rather than noodles. Also, they didn't have chili oil. Anyway, we were extremely disappointed and will not be returning. This is sad as this place is in a prominent...
