My boyfriend, 8 year old daughter, and I ate dinner here on 4-1-21, and were very disappointed. Upon walking in, we did not know if we were suppose to find a seat, wait to be seated, or go up to the counter. After standing near the counter for 5 minutes or so, with the waiter (Tall slender white haired older male who may also be the owner) paying us no attention (despite not being busy with anything) we found our own table. Where we sat for almost 10 minutes without a menu. I snagged one from a table that had not been bussed yet and we decided on our orders. Fries with nacho cheese as an appetizer, soda and Chicken parm with a side of Italian sausage for BF, soda and 7" pineapple pepperoni pizza for kiddo,& water with lemon and chicken fettuccine alfredo with a side of sausage for me. (Note before ordering my drink I verified they had lemons, then asked for water with lemon) The BFs meal and mine are suppose to come with bread and butter. Waiter seemed like he would rather be anywhere else. No smile or warmth at all.. Drinks came out, no lemon. BF got his meal and it was lukewarm. About 8 minutes later mine came out no bread, no sausage, and also lukewarm. Waiter couldn't be flagged down so BF went up and politely let him know I was missing items. Waiter brought missing bread in one hand and a rag with cleaning solution in the other, asked us if we wanted drinks topped off and if we had ordered anything for my 8 year old. (No we just take her out so she can watch us eat dinner) smh. We remind him of the pizza and the appetizer still missing from the table. He brings them both out and it was closer to room temp than lukewarm. The fries were just freezer crinklecuts with seasoning salt sprinkled after being plated. The "nacho" cheese was just cheddar cheese sauce. Not worth the $6. We were so unsatisfied that we decided to not order the carrot cake we were planning to get. $41.11 and the only positive things I can truly say about the place is that the dining area was clean, and the bread was good.

Recap: poor customer service, small portions (which for the price was alright I guess), bland and cold food, no atmosphere.

During our drive home the boyfriend and I attempted to think of a local dine in restaurant that had left us so disappointed and unsatisfied. I have been here 5 years, he has been here over 25 and we honestly came up empty.

We will...

Went here tonight for the first time after reading good reviews and looking forward to supporting a local company. Sadly I wasn’t able to do that. My wife and I ordered our meals (stuffed pasta and lasagna) and proceeded to wait an hour. I know lasagna takes awhile so I was trying to be patient. I finally asked when it was coming and I was informed it would any minute. So I waited another 10 minutes and was told it must have been dropped and they were remaking one. So now I know one meal is sitting under a heat lamp and the other is being started over. We were not offered anything during the wait, maybe bread or a salad or something?? I was starving when I arrived and was now over 1:15 since I ordered. During all this time I saw 20+ meals and pizzas come and go from multiple door dash drivers and customers picking up. So I know you were busy but you should be more attentive to the ONLY people in your restaurant. So I finally hear “order up for dine in” and I KNOW it’s ours since we are the only people there and it was the wrong order and ours would be out soon. So at this point I politely asked to pay for our sodas we drank and we are leaving since it’s been over 1:30 since we ordered. The waitress was nice and very apologetic (we know it wasn’t her fault) we were not charged for the sodas and we left. Sadly I won’t be back cause of this experience. Simple communication could have...

By far the worst place we have ever eaten. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip as our appetizer. The chips were stale and the dip was salty. Our entrees were the chicken Parmesan. Where to begin ...it was overcooked so the first impression was that I would've been embarrassed to serve something that looked like that. After finally getting silverware the taste was strange . Didn't like the sauce whatsoever . It was like it was canned tomato paste that was not diluted . I'm not sure if it was chicken because it was so thin and could not get past the paste taste. If there was any cheese there was so little we never found it. It was a plate of tons of tomato paste, pasta ,and a thin breaded patty of something . Mostly tomato paste though. It was supposed to come with 2 slices of garlic toast . It came with 2 slices of bread and a little thing of butter. My husband's iced tea was water. We ordered 2 side salads but never got them. We should have known when we walked in there was no smell. There was a small glass with salt and pepper packets in it. There was no shaker of parmesan cheese. We will never go back. I highly recommend you go anywhere else for Italian food and I mean anywhere including the grocery store for a TV dinner because even that would...

Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! My wife, daughter, and i dined here earlier today. We ordered fried ravioli, jumbo stuffed pasta, kids chicken nuggets, and the Manicotti. Everything came out tasting great. The server did inform us that their fryer had kicked the bucket so I was pleasantly surprised that our fried Ravioli and the chicken nuggets still tasted well being I assume cooked in a frying pan. So props to the chef for making that work. Overall we had a good experience. My only real critiques are I wish we were given garlic bread or something toasted. Was kinda weird they just put a plain piece of bread on the plate when everything else seamed to be all homemade, fresh, and of high quality. the dining area could definitely use some new floors and some layout adjustments as well. But the place did seam to be kept clean and tidy which is a huge thumbs up for me. We will be returning to try some other items on the menu. The food was really simple and delicious.

With its bright fluorescent lighting and concrete flooring, this place screams "mom and pop." The gentleman who served us was nice enough and the food came out in a timely manner. We started with a two piece garlic cheese bread, which was delicious. For dinner, I got the cheese tortellini and asked for half red and half Alfredo sauce and they were happy to accommodate. It was pretty tasty but it was literally just tortellini and sauce. My husband got the garlic butter pasta with meatballs. It was *impressively* bad. Flavorless, I don't know if there was even any salt in it. Just noodles and butter with some Italian seasoning, and two meatballs that were tough on the bottom, and a very faint hint of garlic. Both entrees came with two slices of plain, untoasted, unheated white bread with a little disposable thing of butter. I know the owners of this place probably have good intentions, but I would advise them to give both the menu and the atmosphere a serious overhaul.

Easy to find with plenty of parking. Sutera's Italian restaurant has been feeding hungry citizens of Kansas City for at least three generations. I remember my Grandfather taking me to Sutera's way back in the late 1960's when they were still in the West bottoms near the stockyards. When the princess and I moved to our home in Armor Hills we thoroughly enjoyed their restaurant in Brookside in the 1980's and dined there often. I just discovered this location in Gladstone last week. I had a meatball sandwich and my vegetarian friend ordered the baked vegetable casserole. The food was excellent and served fast and hot ! Our server , Frank, was very knowledgeable and seemed happy to answer all of our questions. I really enjoyed this meal and I am sure to return soon.
