Duffy's Tavern — Restaurant in Ocean City

My husband and I visited Duffy's last weekend. I left a very expensive pair of sunglasses on our table. We were there when they opened the next morning and the bartender, Brian, from the night before, remembered us and the table we sat at. He told us that he saw my glasses on the table, and that the manager or waitress took the glasses but he was not sure where they put them. He said he would call me. No call. We visited that evening to check with the manager and waitress. Immediately defensive, the manager proceeded to tell me that he never saw any glasses, that Brian should never have relayed that information, and that is was MY FAULT for leaving the glasses. Well of course it was I tell him, and were it not for hearing that they were seen by staff and management I would have written it off. We proceeded inside to ask the waitress, and were then verbally assaulted by the indoor bartender and pretty much told to get out. I don't know what upsets me more - my negligence, the way that we were treated, or the fact that after 25 years of often frequenting Duffys, we will never return. I have spread the word amongst friends and clients to do the same. Horribly handled situation and...

The food was mediocre ,small crab cakes, old tasting coleslaw, but otherwise fried food was ok. Service was non-existent. it seems we were the only patrons i saw that (after i approached the bar to ask) were told to seat ourselves. Had to request menus from the bar. The restaurant (lol) was less than half full, not busy, still no service. someone approached us after 8 minutes or so, after having seated ourselves,to take drink orders, eventually returning to take meal orders. The server never once stopped by to check on anything, including refills. i had to approach the bar or kitchen area twice to request drink refills to which the bar tender seemed to find it funny that there was a lack of service and hospitality in his barely populated restaurant (lol). However they seemed very hospitable to the local bar flys.( So $75 later)...if you're into wasting your hard earned money on mediocre food with extremely poor service this could be your new favorite spot. btw, 20 years ago under different ownership it was a completely different and enjoyable experience, i don't want to take anything away from the people who...

First I'd like to say that the service at the outside bar was amazing with Joey. We sat outside because the inside of the establishment had a strong scent of urine. The mens room door was wide open, so not sure if that was the issue or not. There was also some underground construction going on by the city so that could be the culprit. My wife had a mixed drink which was made well and not watered down at all. I'm a beer drinker so all is good with me. We ordered the nachos and they were fresh and tasted great, I just would suggest a bit more nacho cheese and some guacamole and you will have the best nachos around. This place seems to cater to the older crowd which was great for me, as being in my 50's here made me feel like the young buck..lol All in all I really liked Duffy's, and will definitely...
