Ryan needs to be fired for his unprofessional attitude and behavior towards a customer!! And shame on you Ryan and Mrs.Lou. A long time customer being treated the way she was on her birthday and during her final days on earth!! Shame shame. What was suppose to be a wonderful birthday lunch turned into one of the saddest events that will be something I will carry the rest of my life. The waiter named Ryan totally ruined our lunch with 4 of best friends only because once I caught his attention I waved for refills of water. I have terminal cancer. I have been in Hospice for 5 months...I choose one of my favorite places to celebrate turning 61, a thing I never thought I would do and it was totally ruined by Ryan announcing he would no longer wait on our table because I had disrespected him....I was totally oblivious to this because I simply asked for a round of water as we prepared to leave the restaurant. I have loved eating at Maison De Lou for many , many years. Unfortunately this will be my final memory of this place that use to be so close my heart. Facebook review of my sweet cousin: Happy birthday to me....tears and all.
I will never eat here again.
I hope you will not either for the ungracious server, who only had to wave a finger inticating "I gotcha" instead of announcing in the middle of the restaurant I'm not waiting on you because you were rude to me.
I thought if you needed something from your server, you told them. Unfortunately he didn't feel like serving us something as simple as a refill of water.
And let me add this...he knew it was my birthday celebration as when we sat down he told me it was his girlfriend's birthday as well.
Lou, I know he has worked for you a while and in the past he had joked n been one of my favorite waiters but this is totally unacceptable to me.
I am left here in tears for only asking for a refill if water.
Be sure I will share this as much as I can in the short time I have left here on this earth. No I cannot forgive you right now.
I will pray really hard tonight as a Christian woman to find the place in my heart where I can forgive you.
Right now I'm dumbfast and very hurt over something so simple that could have been avoided.
Oh and one more thing...I told our waiter we would not be coming back to eat here at Maison De Lou for a while and our waiter said.......................... I DON'T CARE!!! I would not want a person like this working in...
Read moreFrom front porch dining with a view overlooking the gorgeous oak lined downtown to indoors or a beautiful hidden outdoor courtyard in the back I assure you that the greatness doesn't stop there. (Outdoor spaces are pet friendly and they do offer fresh bowls of Water for our furiends!) The only thing I'm upset about is the fact that I waited so long to stop in and try this amazing locally owned and operated small business. We have yet to join them for dinner but maybe that's because all I can think about is their lunch. Sometimes being a pescatarian can be difficult... But not here.... the options are perfect for most. So this is that place that you take visitors to that are from out of state... this is that place that offers one of a kind options made with the freshest ingredients and locally sourced seafood for those who love it. Those we have taken to try it have all fallen in love. Personally I'm addicted to the veggie panini and oyster poboy (when its available) is the best ive ever had... something about that perfectly seasoned eggplant mixed with the warm goat cheese and roasted red peppers just sends your taste Buds into overdrive. For my fiance it's the shrimp poboy. They also offer daily specials and housemade soups. If you're lucky enough to be there when they serve the roasted red pepper and gouda soup just do it... it's to die for! Let's not forget about their friend Green tomatoes or their award winning bree appetizer. Basically there has not been 1 thing ordered by us or friends that hasn't been anything less than outstanding!! Just go! Grab a drink from the bar or sit out front and enjoy the beautiful view of downtown...
Read moreThis place was open for dining in and had great Google reviews. We gave it a shot. Called up and oddly they didn't take a reservation (though they do) but said to not come before 8 P.M.
Well at exactly 8 we arrived and were immediately offered a seat in the courtyard. It was just lovely out there. Nice temperature at that hour and a cool breeze. Keep in mind it is the middle of June.
Dogs are welcome out there too!
Our host was so sweet and he introduced us to the server, and I wish I remembered her name. I think she does some teaching too? We heard the specials and immediately dropped our menus and went for it.
The hangar steak was perfectly done to requested temperature and crazy delicious! The lamb chops (rack) came with 6 and with a strawberry glaze. WOW! Our sides were 2 each: both got the beets, which were in a syrup like sauce without adding anything weird to the flavor... maybe it was puree of beet? Whatever it was we loved it. One got the cauliflower which came in a ramekin sort of mashed potato style. I could have eaten a bowl of that. And lastly one got the grilled mushrooms and onions. Also good, but nothing beyond the description.
Do yourself a favor and go to this restaurant. Besides the food, the service and everyone working there added to the...
