4.5 stars — For the coffee that slapped my soul awake.

Stopped in for a grilled cheese with prosciutto, which was… fine. Not “write home about it” good, but definitely “text your friend that it’s fine” good. I wouldn’t reorder unless I was already coming back for the real reason this place exists: the coffee.

The vanilla-orange brew is what happens when caffeine goes to therapy and finds itself. Sweet, citrusy, and a little bougie, like a vacation in a cup. I will absolutely return for this beverage and possibly write sonnets about it.

What sets this place apart isn’t just the beans, though—it’s the vibes. You’re right by the transit center (shoutout to the Coaster, the saddest, most punctual train), close to downtown Oceanside, and a five-minute stroll to the ocean, in case you need to stare into the abyss after finishing your drink.

Bonus points for using actual dishes and cups if you dine in. Real ceramic. Like the ancients.

My husband and I were on a short getaway from Arizona and decided to go to Oceanside for our first visit. I am an avid coffee drinker, and while some might search for a pub or brewery in a new town, I search for coffee. And this is how we stumbled into this gem. The menu was perfect. Simple and not too overwhelming, focused on the coffee. Husband and I both opted for the Tribute Latte (mine with almond milk). The Orangey Vanilla creaminess mingled perfectly with the Cold Brew, and when it wasn't as strong as I had hoped in terms of coffee flavor, they graciously added an espresso shot for me.
